History of the Redwood Rendezvous

For 10 years this event was the single most epic I-club meet/event in northern california, I thought a look back would be a fun thing to do for posterity;

Some of you will remember the early days, a few names have come and gone, but this always proved to be the funnest group drive of the year, If you missed it, too bad, but at least you can still read about it because the internet never forgets...

Someone asked about a beach campsite, so I just wanted to give this a little update and bump, only 10 months to the next Redwood Rendezvous!

Would you be interested in doing a spring time rally maybe? Turn it into 2 a year instead of just one? Maybe some time around March/April. I could help with preparations and planning if you want.

I typically need to dedicate 3 or 4 weekends to putting on an event like this, March in 2011 has the WRC in Mexico, Desert Storm Rally in So Cal and Doo Wops Rally in WA, this year they all fall on the same weekend as the Velocity Challenge speed skiing race in Canada, which- if I have my way- is probably where I'll wind up going.

Since the ski hills are all open, I'd really prefer to spend my weekends skiing at this time of year, but that's just me...

Then come April and May I need to start working on the Idaho Rally and North Nevada Rally, which run in June and July respectively, and this year we also have the Mendocino Rally in August, so for me to organize something- I can really only do it in the fall.

Now if you and someone else can do all the organizing so I only have to come out and run in it, I might be a little more interested in that.

I guess it might be time to start thinking about it...

With NNR 2011 in the history books, and just the Mendocino rally between now and September, I guess it might be time to start the thread for #9, #9, #9, #9...
