Hey North Bay crew- so what's the deal for Sunday?
So I've seen the plan evolve through going to this wing-ding at Infineon, then a drive- is Pizza still somewhere in the plan?
Is there one plan or many?
Perhaps someone could update me on times and places so I don't have to dig through 20+ pages of headlight mods and sway bar talk....
geez you guys.......
By the way, I did an awesome trip up to Yreka over the weekend, drove a good 200+ miles on dirt and gravel in the forests up there on Sunday then came back via 96, 299, the lost coast (Petrolia and Honeydew) and Avenue of the Giants, -527 miles yesterday.
You guys would not believe some of the awesome roads up that way, too bad its all so far from home, but I'd say it's worth the trip up a couple of times a year.

Daredevil's got most of it covered. Sorry about the tons of random postings. And I'd love to hear more about the backroads you mention.
Oh, and we're ending our drive at a great (or so I 've been told) pizza restaurant in Occidental. I'll post a more updated thread momentarily and invite the rest of BAIC to join us while I'm at it.

Humbolt redwoods and lost coast
about 5 hours north of here, the regular roads are well known, but the back roads up there are some of the twistiest you can find

And finally, I'm working with the Forest service to get a special use permit to hold a TSD rally on the roads in the Klamath National Forest next spring if all goes according to plan, they have seemingly endless miles of unpaved twisties, but not all will be passable in April/May, so there's lots of scouting still to do.

Wow. Drool. I would be totally interested in taking a day trip up north and back if anyone's motivated to plan such a trip. <hint, hint>

If you opt to tempt pete to plan a drive, you should bring your depends under gagments. This is one of the most precise & talented subie drivers that I have tried to follow. The only way that i was able to stay with him (or should I say catch back up ) is with gobbs more power than he had at the time. In short carefull what you ask for he's a brute of a driver. Much love to ya Pete. Later,Vince....

OK I can plan a route and make it interesting, but we need a date...
It might be worth considering a 2 day trip, maybe overnight at a campground up in Humboldt or something.
Tourist traffic starts tapering off now and into October usually has agreeable weather, September is getting booked pretty full for me already although....
13,14, maybe...
Oct 4,5 has potential, 11,12, or the weekend before Halloween.
I'm thinking a run/work rally format, with transits where we can run as a pack- you guys will enjoy it.....
