Thoughts on Del-Ton rifles? Or for something that will never be anything more than a plinker would it not be worth it to spend the money on a mid-tiered model and go with a $400-500 unassembled kit?

No kidding, but they are still 10rd. Lots of people are giving NY the finger after that S.A.F.E. gun law package passed. A few major manufacturers have moved to other states even.

Hi, everyone I'm still kinda new but I have built ARs and have done some tweaking to some other guns. So I'm here for some advice if needed.

Does anyone have a source for the original Colt CAR buttstocks that came on the Colt 727 and M4's?

I prefer these over any of the aftermarket buttstocks. Simple, lightweight and solid. It's a shame they're discontinued and very hard to find.

It isn't that much different from an A2 stock. A2 is probably why those are discontinued.
