If school teaches that its okay for homosexuals to marry in a secular manner, there is nothing contradictory about going home and teaching your kids its morally wrong. In my experience, a child is (or at least should be) influenced more by their parents and church than school. A good parent, with a strong moral character should be able to influence more than a school system. The world is out there whether you like it or not, and its the parents job to raise the kid, not the schools.
+1 I fear more for the kids with no parents or absent role models that won't have that home or church consule than my own.

I know, I agreed with what you said above about the fact that it should be separated.

That way gays can do their own thing... Unions.

Straight couples can get married.

Then both groups can file with the government for the special benefits, tax changes, etc.

Separated from government, but united in benefits for both groups.

Here's a twist:

Where's your moral outrage for those (heterosexuals) who choose never to get married, all the while living together in sin? Your rule book, the rules of the game YOU follow, so try reading and understanding it...

Oh, and by using the word "gay" as an adjective to describe the noun "marriage", you are again segregating it to ensure that the person in question knows the difference and your thoughts on the matter.

Having shot a wedding this afternoon, I only solidified my opinion on the subject. They're a married couple, and I don't have to differentiate that from any other married couple, but to provide YOU the information that both participants in the wedding were female.

I'm not privy as to what goes on in their private (intimate) life, so who am I to judge them? Do you know everybody who's a homosexual? I doubt you can tell - not everyone wears it on the outside. I bet if you're a gym member, whenever you work out, there's probably a gay person among you...

...and as long as they keep their thoughts to themselves, who are you to know?

Your link which you present was written LONG in advance of Proposition 8 or its inception being even a concept in some committee meeting somewhere. I do NOT see ANYWHERE where it MANDATES COMPULSORY education of the students to say that homosexual marriage is RIGHT OR WRONG.

Nice try, however. Thanks for playing, and please try again.
You're right that it says that marriage doesn't need to be taught, but then says that if it sex ed is taught (which 96% of schools choose to do) that marriage must be taught. Therefore, the end result is that 96% of California schools teach marriage because they teach sex ed.

And to be fair, gay marriage would have to be acknowledge and upon acknowledging gay unions as marriage, our kids will be led to the conclusion that it's okay for gay couples to marry like traditional couples.

There is nothing on the ballot about those heterosexuals living in sin and if there were you know which way my vote would lean. You are right, they are wrong too.

You are right about my segragating by calling it gay marriage. That is what it is. It is not marriage.

If I want to call myself Asian can I? Can I apply for schools as an Asian? Or as a Native American? Or any minority. Who's to tell me I am not one? If we are going to play with definitions so that we can enjoy some rights and be happy, I'd like to recieve some grants for college.

Who am I to redefine Asian or Native American to make myself happy or enjoy the benefits they do??

The state government shouldn't add words to the state constitution to the for the sake of latchkey kids. That should really be the realm of social services (which I believe should be private/church sponsored, not government sponsored if we lived in a perfect small government world).
