kind of, but not really
went to the shop today and talked to the tech. for a bit. They went through everything they could and they have figured out that the problem lies in the immobilizer, something is wrong with the programming, basically the only way to get the car started is get it to a subaru dealer. They are the only ones with the ability to mess with the immobilizer.
I really hoped it wasn't this though. Since the wrecked wrx was not signed off to me, and the guy i bought it from didnt get it signed off either, the local dealer wouldnt work on it the last time i was there.
Greg, my mentor (Roo) is going to talk to the mechanic there and get a more technical description of whats going on and possibly figure out what to do from there

He's pretty much out of luck ~ tried at my dealership and they LOVE me...
DMV will get him nowhere, he simply does not have the documentation he needs!

The title should have the previous owner's name and address on it. I would contact either him directly with a letter or see if you can get verification from your local police station. There are a millions ways to go about this and get the results you want.

So write him a letter, but if there is any suspicion he's in the clink don't send it from your home address. If he is in the clink the USPS will likely be forwarding his mail there. Do you have a receipt of any sort or did you just pay straight up cash?

payed a bank check to the guy who physically owned the car, nice dude, a local mechanic, was going to use the car for a sand rail or something
as soon as i know whats going on tomorrow, ill figure out what needs to be done. this whole thing is a mess, hopefully it will get cleaned up rather quickly
