that would be sweet
but, LIC thinks that the problem maybe be that the engine has some big problems. i should hear back from them later today or tomorrow i think

car arrived last night, we are a few hours in on it and............ it's running!
*motor is not feeling the best though
we still have some more diagnostics to do, now onto the wiring, should be easy enough to get dialed in

Should have had LIC just do the swap from the beginning. Would have saved you a lot of hassle. I am the only one that has repeat swaps with LIC because they do things right.
Good Job Noah and Adam for making the thing run.
Btw, just by looking at that timing belt cover, looks like there could be internal damage to that motor. Honestly, the way the donor car looks, it probably was not worth getting that motor. Plus I would have stuck with the stock RS Tranny over the WRX tranny. Who knows how bad the internals are from a car like that.

It's all in how you drive it. My swapped RS had 142k on it with the original RS tranny and ran perfectly fine with no issues and no shrapnel when I changed the tranny fluid. Just don't beat the **** out of it and it will be fine. Adam's swapped RS at LIC has it's original RS tranny too.

adam has ran his RS for 100's of drag races (6-7 years worth of drag racing), 30+ track events, countless dyno tunes and pulls...and it still has never broken.
its all in the left foot, as tranny's just dont magically break...they are subject to the use and force supplied by the person in the driver seat

anyone can break any tranny, everything from a L to a 6spd to a Auto. all depends on the person behind the wheel...

Lowball is a great example: ~45k on hard driven 2002 WRX wagon with no...as far as I know...transmission issues.
This particular car at the shop is on it's 3rd(?) owner & who knows how it was treated.
But I can tell you that 5 days after dropping another motor in & tuning it, the transmission is locked up & the spider gears in the rear diff are missing teeth.

I wasn't trying to step on toes: I realize that the biggest problem with Subaru transmissions is the nut behind the wheel.

for all of you who want to do the work yourselves, look at some of the tall tale signs of issues when buying used parts. I know Salvator mentions no engine damage on the first post but when you see a motor like you see in his pics, its almost always guaranteed messed up, as his was/is.
cam gear got pushed and is slightly broken, which in turn jumped the timing belt and casued timing to be off. Side Effect, bent exhaust valves along cylinder 1&3

I kind of screwed this one up a bit awhile back, didnt really know too much about what could have been wrong. should have tried to got the car running before i picked it up or something, that was a mistake.
so anyways ill be spending some time on the engine getting the heads off and then bringing them to LIC again to get fixed, hopefully we can get this done pretty quick if possible
