long time bump here - not a whole lot going on.

Coilovers finally gave, rears are blown, whole set needs rebuild. Going to buy some lowering springs in the meantime after I sell these.
Been to Thunderhill raceway twice, car handled wonderfully. I need to get it off to an allignment shop to straighten some stuff out, but for the most part, it kicked ***.
I need to upgrade the brakes for the track, Hawk HPS and stock rotors are no good, lots of fade - can you say smoking brakes lol? - soon to come, slotted rotors, Hawk Track pads, SS brake lines.

I bought a 2003 OBS that I'll be fixing and selling to make good profit, once thats done, I can get myself some coilovers and better brakes, potentially fix the rust - maybe.

For now, here are some pictures to hold you guys over

I'd love to see her in person some time. The work to get that gauge cluster/dash/center console all working in a GC has to be hell. That alone makes your subie unique. She's definitely a keeper.

damn so I have not updated this in hella days lol

so since the last update, many things have happened (not in order)

-did a couple track days, a blast really, so much fun
- JIC rear coilovers blew, sold them
-got intrax springs and wrx struts for temp setup
-sold V6 wing and removed trunk, bought CF trunk
- blew first gear somehow (not even driving hard) rebuilt at FLI
-traded HKS DP for Titek bellmouth DP

thats about it for now. Have lots of plans for the car here, but I have nothing yet:

-3 port turbo solenoid (some problems with tune and stuff)
-retune at fli with new dp and solenoid
-Slotted front rotors, replace rear rotors
-SS brake lines
- Hawk HP+ pads
-Koni Shocks w/ GC Coilovers, Noltec Camber plates
-Bigger Front sway
-CF hood
-s202 replica wing cf
-tint 15% rear 35% front
-Fix rust

working on another suby for money as well as working as a valet parker. I do not have enough funds currently to do much of anything. But I will soon, hopefully before BAM 9

some newish pictures with a buddy and his 330xi

mine just passed 70k lol

Hey one quick question since ya got a 06 swap(working on it right now)
Did ya keep the old heater core? and how hard do ya have to tug after removing the 3 bolts that bolt it to the firewall

I kept my original core (it's all I had) and there's really no reason to put a different one in.

Be sure to detach the coolant input and output lines from the engine bay, and remove all the mounting bolts from the AC/fan housing.

It's a major beeeyotch to coax out, as there are plastic alignment pins that mate to the AC/fan housing. If you are catching resistance stop, as it yanking on it may break some important stuff.

Also, the recirc/lower air manifold on top of the transmission tunnel will catch the core; it's light gauge ABS so don't worry about crushing it.

I have removed/replaced my core over 5 times since I was troubleshooting my wiring on the weekends and using the car a a daily driver during the week.

I'm in Livermore and can help out if you ever need it, I have the full FSM on my laptop and bet we could wrap your car up in a day.

I removed the old heater core, I can't remember it being difficult at all.

I did replace mine with the new o6, which was a pain for sure, but only because I have GD dash in my car, otherwise there would be no point to replace it. I almost wish I kept the RS dash just to make things easy, but it definitely looks really nice with that new dash in there

Yeah, I kept my AC intact so that made it hard. With the AC/Fan removed it'd be a breeze.

I just read through this whole thread. That's some serious work, and a very nice end product. I'm feeling a little lazy now that I haven't even put the Rallyarmor flaps I got a month ago on my '02... Keep us updated on the car.

^ you finish your swap yet? your car is going to be so sick when done.

Long time no update here really. Car has been sitting for the past couple months while I'm out at college here in Boulder, CO. I'll have the car here in January after winter brake. When I bring the car here I'll get a new fuel pump on there and a retune for e85 (its everywhere here) and more boost, should help compensate for the altitude here (~5200 ft)

The car also needs suspension, a better fsb, rotors, pads, ss lines and a few other things. As for the rust repair, a friend of mine is going to make a CF patch for each side that can be painted over. He is really good with CF and it will cost me a lot less than getting a body shop to do it and should be close to the same thing when finished which will be nice. Also, I should be able to get the car mostly repainted for free with comprehensive insurance for rock damage.

also, sold the V6 wing, got the CF trunk clear coated at maaco. Some orangepeel, but it is only noticeable close up. s202 wing is on. Car needs a Cwest lip which will go on soon here, probably before anything else.
