yea, the guy at fine line said that it would be a good idea to go with a bit lower boost than a normal stage 2 because i don't have a bellmouth downpipe, so there would be more back pressure which could damage the turbo. Plus, its a fairly mild tune, but it still made some nice power.
here is the dyno sheet from fine line imports

hm, well not really actually, its kind of a mild tune. if i go back though for more psi or something, it would cost me quite a bit, more than im willing to spend right now :/ .
what is stock boost? isnt it something like 10-11 psi?

Even an STi runs like 14.5psi stock iirc. I'd imagine wrx's run less. I don't see how there's anything wrong with his tune. Also considering the fact that he's on a tight budget apparently, it's not as if Rizzo is slapping on every free flowing upgrade onto the exhaust side of the turbo which would enable him to make more power and run more boost. He even mentioned it was a conservative tune. I'm sure if he said "I want to make as much power as possible with this setup, don't be conservative", then he'd have gotten a map with more boost than stock. I don't see what it has to do with the tune...
BTW, where exactly do you live? I was in NYC from the 14th to 19th so I wasn't home for the snow (although had plenty of snow while in NYC). I doubt that snow was in the valley since I haven't remembered snow on the ground here in rosa for a long time. You must have fun in your GC with so much torque at the wheels and a light curb weight. I'd kill to have my GDF weigh that little.

Off of hwy 12 on the way to sonoma, sort of near sky hawk but up in the mountains (know where hood mountain state park is?)
but yea the tune is all good, compared to stock, this thing pulls like a mother****er, i really love it a lot. eventually i'll step it up and go for the sti turbo upgrade, but for now, this will be just fine.
my all seasons are pretty much done, so i bought a set of General Exclaim UHP's, they were cheap ($81/tire) and i heard they do pretty well in snow and just overall, should be here pretty soon
i have to get the car on the track soon, ive finally got some decent tires (the falkens) so now its just about time for that

So not too much has happened yet, just had the generals mounted, they are a lot better than the Conti's so far (awesome in snow as well).
I'll let you in on a little plan of mine here. In order to combat the rust in the rear, I would rather not pay a shop to cut it out and weld it etc, that would cost a lot of money. Instead, I'm going to be going with this: http://www.aitracing.com/shop/index....oducts_id=1427 and this http://www.aitracing.com/shop/index....oducts_id=1426 .
This way I will be able to cut out of the rust and then just protect the metal with something so it doesn't rust again and then just bend the metal fender up in the back so its out of the way of the tires/wider fenders. The rear fenders rivet onto the existing metal fender, making it a lot easier to install then something like the ht autos kit. Either a buddy of mine or me will be painting the fenders to keep the costs down a little bit.
Hopefully my 235's won't look too funny under there, otherwise i might have to trade them off for something wider
Also, if this is going to happen, I might go for a c-west front lip while I'm at it and paint the side skirts and rear spats.

12lbs out of the TD04 sounds pretty good. Conservative enough to prevent any premature failure. Peak HP means nothing w/o reliability. Those torque #s are great and thats what you need to put the power down. Im sure you can wring more out of the 255 with a VF39, Pink injectors and a Walbro. After all that work, just sit back and enjoy while gas is still cheap!
hmmm that seems like low boost for a stage II protune...
My 07 WRX was hitting about 16.5psi Cobb Stage II I think. My 08 STi Stage II hits 19psi
Still looks sexy though and I'm sure it's a beast!

thats the plan, go with the VF39. Soon probably too, I've got a mini business plan that seems to be working out well for me; buy cars that need some help and sell them off. I did one and got $1400 in profit and now I'm working on a '95 525i that needs a headgasket, this one should give me about $2500 or more dollars in profit when done
The tune is a bit conservative, but since the torque numbers are pretty high, more than a stock sti. The thing seriously hauls *** off the line, I'm really happy with it. PLus, the car is pretty light too, I haven't weighed it, but it should be somewhere around 2800lbs Definietely a huge improvement over stock with just a pipe really.
What did your '06 put down for numbers? im curious about that

Hehe. I seen an infomercial couple years ago advertising that same strategy...buy a used car, fix it up and flip it for profit.. Sounds like a good deal!!!A buddy of mine does that but with classic mustangs.
Ive got an 01RS with an 04 STI swap and Cobb st.II map., Mahle forged pistons, ACL rod bearings and rebuilt heads. Im hitting around 19 psi. I havent dynoed it yet but on paper im supposed to be getting 350hp 385LBs/ft. Needless to say It lays it down

as for 97impreza - not a problem, that is pretty awesome. I've been looking for subarus just because I know them better than any other car, but there just aren't many around here
