it was a pain actually. the hardest part would definitely be getting the heater core to fit. the dash beam didnt seem very hard, but if you look it still doesnt line up quite right, but its very stiff and pretty much doesn't move at all, which is good, so i'm pretty happy.

I didnt really do it right, so there are still some issues

They were a little bent, when they were supposed to be closed, there was a little gap around some of them. none of them were really bad. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures

You got lucky...I've seen motors completely destroyed due to valve heads rattling around.

heads are back and on now, worked for a few hours and got those on right. missing a couple things and subaru gave me two of the same lower cam gears so i have to go back and get the right one (2x RH gears)

basically whats left is cam gears, the headers and up-pipe, timing and then the covers and v-belt then back in the car and i should be good

another update:

the engine is back in the car and everything is hooked up. However, for some awesome reason, there is something wrong with my starter or battery or something related to the initial ignition of my car. the starter chatters instead of turning the engine over, and i haven't found the reason why yet.

Also, i have to repin or do something to replace the ecu connectors because many of the pins are bent from different shops prodding each slot in the connector to check for continuity and voltages etc. there is a bad connection, i can jiggle the ecu and hear the fuel pump turn on and off among other things

I am going out of town for 2 weeks starting tomorrow, hopefully i can clear my head and quickly get this thing running as soon as i get back

I'll get some pictures uploaded later today for you guys
