So... you are doing a full drivetrain swap? Gonna drop your 2.5RS tranny and replace with the '06? If you are, I am interested in picking up the tranny parts from you.

How about we talk after you finish the swap? We shouldn't count the chickens before they hatch.

I hope you don't forget to upgrade the fuel pump while you're doing this. It's cheap and if you wanna do more power down the line you'll need to get the walbro 255lph pump. Even if you don't do the walbro... at least take the stock pump out of the 06 if you can.

i've heard the gas tank from the wrx fits, so ill just bolt that up. i took the pump out originally, but since i have the tank i might as well put it in

the evap. emissions stuff on the fuel tank is different from 98 to 06. the 98 and 01 2.5RS's have different gas tanks too. Better off with the newer gas tank, especially since you swapping everything else. Looks like you've got yourself a great senior project, sure wish I could have done my swap for some class credit!
Just make sure you take care of it and don't let the power get to your head. It's alot easier (and happens quicker) For you to lose control and wreck. Take it from someone on their 3rd GC. With All that new power, It may make you feel like your invincible, but treat it like it's made of glass, and it may survive a few years. It would be a shame for all your hard work to go understeering into a curb. Good luck and have fun!

(P.S., what's your beef with Ver. 8 STI swaps? )

hey thanks for that. I've almost had a bad accident on more than one occasion, one from **** tires in a first rain and one from stupidity. Luckily all i got was a messed up bumper skin and bumper beam and nothing else. I really really really do not want to mess this up at all.

lol I was just explaining that there isnt much special about this swap powerwise, its going to be a stock wrx and not a 300 hp monster gc
