no more likes a normal shop that specializes in subarus, not a tuning/performance shop. I never called them but i don't think normal auto work is really their thing.

so they worked on it for awhile and they have determined that there is a missing ground or something missing from the ignition switch, although i am not 100% as to exactly what they mean. They said they traced a couple things to see what might be the problem and a lot or most of it leads back to the immobilizer unit, however i dont know if they tried the car with the 04 sti ecu. the tech said he would and then he would get back to me, but im pretty positive that isnt going to do it.

Seriously, if it doesn't work out, let us know. It is a little drive, but I am sure that a few of us can come by and help you figure out that wiring.

thanks guys, no real updates right now, im going to go to the shop tomorrow (like 5 min. from school) and see whats going on, maybe some progress
