Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

as for the pulleys they are worth it because the cut down on driveline loss due to rotational mass...so it wont make more HP but it will allow more hp to hit the wheels (not much though)

how much did you pay for your injen? and where did u order it from?

new idea

so i was thinking about cheap ways for getting more hp out of the car, an idea that came to mind, is if you had a hood scoop, could you potentially add blowers (not supercharger) for the intake, so the air would get forced/sucked in using the speed of the car/wind resistance. any thoughts?

you could try getting a hood scoop; and if you can, somehow create a DIY intake in which the air filter is directly under the hood scoop lol

you might find that funny...but i actually have a design for that but i was told not to do it so i decided to just get a CAI...but if you did build the intake of the scoop you'd be pushing a LOT of air into the cyl's and that is a good thing :P

p.s. - it'd be like the old legacy's with the scoop that dumped into the "smoke tower" lol

hey y'all, just bought a new 07' 2.5i and want to tune a bit. i've read through several threads and there's some pretty useful stuff on here. thanks! i want to add a cai and to my understanding the cai's for the wrx will fit. can anyone verify that? and what brand has the best performance and is most reliable? any feedback greatly appreciated!!!

wrx CAI will not fit. i believe that injen is the most tried and proven but i've heard good things about injen CAI and the Weapon R SRI. you can also just delete the intake silencer and get almost the same power inprovement for free.

i've already got the hood scoop on my car, and the intake is located pretty much directly below it, so i dont see why it would be a bad design, i'll have a talk with some of the specialists here, definatly keen on something, the electric superchargers seem to be getting more popular online, but i just dont see how a small turbine fan can pump enough air... anyone used/know anyone with one? does it actually work? or is it all a internet scandal?

it really seems kinda like something that will break or not do as promised. i mean, intake companies claim extraordinarily high numbers that are "dyno proven", but in actually the product is nothing like advertised. this electric supercharger seems too good and easy to be true, but if it does work, i mean thats pretty sick... cheap, simple, reliable, and it works. what more could you ask for?

OK so please help me out here... what is the easiest way to remove the crank pulley... i've heard a lot of mixed things like having to pull the engine... if it takes that much work i'm not doing it... thanks
