Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Cheap, if that's what you want.

Recently I ordered and installed a Turbonator, just to see if it was for real. If you want a couple HP and a little bit better reaction time in the RPMs it's a cheap way to get it, about $40 bucks. I would have to say it only gives about 5 to 10 HP at most, but it is noticable and the RPMs drop back to idle a bit quicker. That is one of the only things I can complain about when it comes to my 06 2.5i, the RPMs react too slow. I have a Weapon R SW intake in the mail and a Cobb pulley, short shifter and tranny mount (thanks to posts on here) so I probably won't be using the Turbonator anymore after I get them, but if you want cheap and easy without causing problems (like a check engine light or stalling), that will do it.

I'm looking for a Cat-back system worth while. I want power, and a good sound, not so loud I'll wake the neighbors from a mile away, but not so quite I can't hear it myself when driving down the road either, and definitely not ricey sounding like the old pacesetters. Something kind of throaty, anyone have a good suggestion and where to find it? I've read most of the posts and looked at a few, but I guess I'd like to know what they sound like first.

Thanks, I've looked at the one on boxer4racing.com and I was thinking about getting that one, anyone have any sound bites with this exhaust? Or any others for that matter, like the 04 STI axelback or something? Just trying to get an idea of what's out there before spending the money.

just remember to stay in the 2¼-2½ diameter range for the exhaust (that was my problem...couldn't find one that would fit the 2.5i that wasn't 3" or more because they were for the WRX)

Cool, thanks a lot. I'm getting anxious to get things installed now that I'm waiting for some stuff and have found things that will fit on the 06 2.5i. I've been looking since I got it and ran across i-club.com and have found so many answers from these posts. Thanks to all.

Anyone installed this:

http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?m...ne&prodid=1579

it says it increases HP, Torque, Throttle response, fuel economy, and battery life. Just want to know if it's worth the price or not.

is that like a grounding kit or an ignition system? i've heard both "help" but i don't believe it's by much and you don't need to spend that much to get one either...

I think it's a grounding kit, it's not an ignition system anyway. It supposedly added 12.8 HP to the Lancer EVO in the example, but 250 is a good chunk of money to spend and not get around 10 HP out of it. That's why I was asking if anyone has added it, or any other version of the same thing.

There was also a set of Denso Iridium plugs (supposedly better then platinum plugs), anyone know if they're worth it? I just don't want to get some plugs like the split fires that are known to damage the inside of the engine if no internal mods are done.

There is a piggy back, the pp6 that they make for the 06.

http://yhst-49187380673845.stores.ya...t/rapeecu.html

And you can get the plug and play adapter so you can return it to stock if you need to. Just an idea, but it's not cheap.
