06 Rs Mod Thread
Its going to be longer on the RS, on the wrx the pipe will connect to the turbo while on our cars its actually to the engine.
From my understand to truelly get all the gain out of breathing mods you need to mod the ecu as well.

ok so everybody wanting the avo turbo kit from rallitek...
the thing will work with a TON of elbow grease and $. it is more than just slapping it on, there is welding and that little bit with the intercooler and it not fitting at all, period. so go with an intercooler from a wrx or get their FMIC, i don't care but its all more $. i also want to do this some day but for now my 2.5i is going on a diet and working on handling.
btw i'm new to iclub, just been on nasioc and this place is definatly more on topic. for show.

i was looking at either the Weapon R or the Injen...on rallitek the injen cai is like $260 for the '06-'07...but in the wrx section there is an actual injen short ram for the '05 for $170 (http://rallitek.com/inshramin.html) i just wanted to know if that will work with the 2.5i or is the short ram tube on the CAI set actually longer?

You shouldn't be worried about the CAI sucking up water unless you're driving hard through puddles ( why would you do that? ), you need to suck up quite a bit of water into ur fender for it to reach the CAI.
Also, I've read in a lot of places that headers are pretty much useless to be buying for the 06+'s.
Reason being the 06+ models already have equal length headers which is the only reason a lot of people would buy aftermarket headers for performance anyways, to go equal length over unequal. ( Equal length headers are more free flowing and provide better performance gains then unequal. The unequal length headers however provide a MEAN MEAN exhaust sound with that boxer rumble everyone loves.)
As of right now, none of the equal length headers on the market have really been manufactured to better the stock headers of the 06 headers so it's not worth the money to invest in. My advice would be to get the rest of your mods done first and wait too see what hits the market later on in this year as our cars are still new.
You might also be interested in suspension mods along the way because well, power is nothing without control.

if you guys had been looking on nasioc, intakes actually lose power over doing the intake silencer delete with a k&n pannel filter. do not install an intake without full exhaust and tuning, otherwise do the silencer delete

I'd figure anyone who was serious about tuning their car would end up getting their exhaust and a tune regardless, so wouldn't it make sense to go with an aftermarket intake for the long run?
Who the hell is going to buy an intake for their car and leave it as is..?
no i mean you need both, not jsut the exhaust
the silencer delete is done by using a 10mm socket, a phillips and a regular screw driver. Alls you do here is take out all of the pins/clips out of the passenger fender well lining, take it off, then remove the two screws that hold in a huge white blob and take it out. TADA takes like 20 minutes.
