Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

You are driving the 2.5i right?
Hmm . . . if you plan on turboeing that, you'd have to upgrade a lot of other performance parts such as your braking system to compensate the turbo.
I'd compare the price of the AVO turbo kit, and see how much it'll cost if you can swap the Wrx or Sti engine.
But you'll be the first one to do it

just sell it and get a wrx if you're planning on turbocharging
IMO its the safer more reliable way to go

thing is the avo kit will boost the car to 245, and its already lighter than a rex which has 230. I talked to a guy who said i would need to do internals anyways since a turbo is gonna need different compression yada yada, so in the end he said i would be close to 265 just to amke the kit work. So now i need to decide how bad i want that extra 90hp

dude u should def turbo it if youve got the cash...for and extra 1500 u can front mount it to addin more horse power...and...as long as its tuned right u can run it on the stock engine but it would be good to build up some of the internals too...but on the plus side by the time yur done youll have a sleeper front mount impreza and youll prolly be beatin sti's...

oo and another thing...the avo kit puts u at 212 wheel horsepower...thats already much higher than a wrx bc the awd makes u lose so much hp from the crank to wheels...even the sti is only around like 250 to the wheels, so yur not far off with the turbo on the stock engine...then u add full exhaust internals front mount etc...and yur sure to be runnin on stis...

turbo is not worth it for the overall cost. keep in mind whatever you add to the engine has to be backed up by the car itself. for instance upgrade brakes, maybe even cams and an engine that won't just simply handle the 6psi from the avo turbo but will be able to contain the compression reliably, otherwise you mind as well get an srt-4 ^_^ and i dont think the stock wrx piping would work cause 2.5i engines are sohc. wrx are dohc.

dude be original and build yur car up...u see rexs and stis daily but how often do u see a turbod 06 2.5i...never. it would be soo amazing...im also loookin into turboin mine in the future...and whoever said to go buy an srt-4 appartently doesnt drive a suub...if they do, they dont no how to drive it right, cause theres nothin like awd on a backroad...ive rolled with srt-4s on backroads and there much faster than our car and yet still kept up...stick with the 2.5i and make it nasty dude...i respect that

or go the other way.
Build the best of the best NA 06' 2.5i.
Do every available and possible mod to it. The WHOLE shabang.
Build it for the tracks/autox. You'll probably be the first to do that too
