06 Rs Mod Thread
Rotors... I havent done the calipers yet cause I didnt want to bleed the brakes.
I dont get any pictures or a camera, otherwise I would.
YOu pretty much paint all the surfaces that you pads dont touch, and in return you dont get rusty rotors

umm very slow.
I don't know what to mod at the moment?
I recently got some 17' rota subzeros, but awaiting for spring / summer to put them on.
Guess i could go for some shifter bushings, whiteline endlinks and 22-24mm rear adjustable sway bar? That's like $350-400 right there. Maybe a DIY intake? Custom exhaust? I have noo idea.
I still have 2 years till I pay off this car

dang,.. the only thing that i'm thinking of as for modding right now is just the suspension.. probably coil overs and some struts to make my car get a nice drop. i had some $$$ saved but had to spend it for other needs.
I've been getting all kinds of reviews with my friends about changing them spark plugs for better ones like iridium n' stuff. Do you have to change the wiring for that also and would it even give any benefit.. ??? just wanted ur folks opinion.

In my opinion, I wouldn't touch the spark plugs until you actually NEED to replace them? If it's been a year or two, or maybe three, and you feel the spark plugs are almost dead . . . then I would replace them to iridium.
Like my H-tech springs . . . I'm not gonna get aftermarket struts or inserts until I blow my stock struts first. But that's just my style

I recently added a full cat back system and I love it. Also added the H-techs and im glad as hell I didnt get the S-techs as my friends 06 is draggin through the snow. One thing I am upset about is that the 07's still suffer from the 4500+RPM shifter vibration noise. I will be replacing the shifter for a short shifter and poly bushings to eliminate that dam noise.
I have a universal vibrant exhaust and had the muffler shop make the cat back
.
I went vibrant as the last 3 have served me well and have a super nice tone, this one sounds fantastic. I will take a cell phone video of it in the next few days if the nice weather continues. Most muffler shops will mandrel bend for you for near to nothing. The entire setup and install (minus the muffler cost) was just over 140 canadian and took about 1.5 hours.

ahhhh . . . i see.
I just went to one of my muffler shops, and asked for an estimated quote of how much it'll cost to make a custom 2.25" catback exhaust (minus the muffler), and he stated $150 which takes 2-3 hours.
But the problem is that, the piping is NOT stainless steel. It'll be aluminized. So it's basically the entire piping after the cat , which presumably is only the mid-pipe and/or intermediate pipping. Meaning, I'll have to purchase my OWN muffler, and they'll attach it to the custom 2.25" pipping that they'll make for $150.
Later in the future, I might consider a maganflow muffler w/ custom 2.25" catback exhaust.

I wasent a fan of the Magnaflow on Ra's I had heard beore too gurgly. My friend with a 05 Sti Bought a cheapo Ebay muffler and it sounds just as good if not better then mine and is a straight through design so flow is not an issue. Im almost certain it will only last 2 years but he only paid 40 bux for it hahaha.
