Depends on what you like. I like my pale ales citrusy, but my IPA's grapefruity and pungent, or spicy. I like Racer 5, Karl Strauss's Tower 10, FW Union Jack... Other stuff too, but the Racer 5 and smoked porter are impeding the thought process.

Hey everyone, so I have been crazy into beer for the last few years. I like it all, especially, IPA's. I recently took a visit the Lagunitas Brewery (love their beer!) and was educated on the history of the company and the process of brewing. So, that got me thinking... I should brew my own beer!! I have done a bit of research and it all looks so intimidating. I signed myself up for a brewing class in Concord. Hopefully, it will teach me something and help me get started. Anyways, do any of you guys have suggestions on where I should by my equipment, take classes, or know about home brewing.
thanks
thanks

I suggest picking up John Palmer's "How to Brew" and giving the basic section a good read. Then take a deep breath and get brewing! The information can be intimidating, but it isn't all that hard.
Check out MoreBeer.com (shops located in Concord [probably where you're taking the class?] and Los Altos) and grab their Deluxe Starter kit (runs about $215).

About 2.5 years ago I thought to myself "it can't be that hard to make this stuff." and posted my thoughts in this thread. Wombatsauce gave me some info in this thread and I was on my way!
