i chose to go to church since i was 16. never forced into anything.
eating junk food=unhealthy
Same sex marriage=/=health risk

Controlling what your child eats=making sure your child is healthy
Controlling what adults can marry other adults=forcing your MORALS (which are a PERSONAL belief of what is right) on others involved in a situation that has no effect on you

Your analogies are about as poor as your logic

I agree that everyone is going to have their own opinions.
I am Yes on 8 due to my OWN opinions and religious beliefs. There are ways for homosexual couples to have the same benefits as straight couples. Marriage is a religious ceremony in my eyes. Just my .02 cents...

wrong? Guess what buddy, not everyone believes the fairytale you call the bible. Guess what else, that fairytale has no relevance to LAWS. I think your views on homosexuals is WRONG. Does that give me the right to say you can't get married because of it?

if "marriage" is purely religious than why not take all mention of the word put of the state constitution? Why not change all unions (hetero and homosexual) to "civil unions"'

Then please tell me why we say "under God" in the pledge and why each bill says IN GOD WE TRUST. Obviously our government still sees our country being under God.

Not trying to be rude to anyone..just making a point.

perhaps while we're at it, we should change both of those things too

Take all mention of "god" out of everything. I honestly have no problem with that.

And what are both heterosexuals and homosexuals doing now? They're staying with their mate, whether it's in marriage or not.

So... with all this bashing of religion, you've become a bigot yourself?

I still can't believe there is a single logical explanation to vote yes on 8. Its not a logical vote, its an emotional one.
Well, you're supposed to vote on your beliefs, that's how a democracy worked. Do your normally vote how someone tells you to?

Marriage in the United States is a joke. (I think I heard it's like a 2% divorce rate in India?) Most people wouldn't even get married if it weren't for the tax and child crap you get with it. Which is obviously shown with the high divorce rate.

While I don't agree with gay marriage, I'd abstain from this proposition as it's conflict between my religious beliefs (yes, I'll put on my flame suit) and equality beliefs. There's always going to be a minority *****ing about something, and a few months ago the loudest voice were the illegal immigrants, and now it's the homosexuals. Who's next?

Please show us exactly where in the Constitution our right to marriage is protected?
While you're at it , do the same for abortion.

Yes, actually. I tend to weigh both sides of the issue, and vote based on what I think is the best outcome. What I don't do is vote based on my gut, or based on just what one person says.

So far, no good logical argument has been given for a Yes on 8. Only emotional arguments and religious arguments. For me, that won't cut it. I need arguments that make sense.

What are the logical reason(s) against it?

Absolutely NO on 8. I will NOT use my right to vote to remove someone's rights to marry a loved one anymore than I would use the same right to shut up all the idiotic people on this thread making hazy religious arguments in favor of Prop 8.

Logical argument? It removes rights, where the state constitution is designed to save people rights.

Prop 8 is designed to make the homophobic think that they just aren't letting the marry, but really its a way to take their rights away.

Marriage may not be a direct constitutional right, but life liberty and freedom are, and I can definitely see how it violates that...

STOP BEING QUEER SCARED and saying how homosexuals are unhealthy, this bill will in turn promote them having 1 partner, instead of many. If anything it make the world healthier.......

you people really need to get your heads out of your asses.

It's your job to take the time to think.

FACT is you got no more right to be here or do anything than anyone else im my opinion so.........................I don't feel im the authority on other peoples lives............unfortunately there are those people who want to control the world.

GOD IS DEAD, and HE SURE AS HELL DIDN"T DIE FOR ME.

AND FRANKLY YOU ARE JUST STUPID.

THE MORE QUEERS THE BETTER, YOU KNOW WHY..........

MORE VAGINERS FOR THE TAKING FOR ME

SO PROMOTE VAGINA FOR HETROSEXUAL MALES AND VOTE NO ON 8
