Dude, I respect your beliefs and that you don't like gay people, that's your right.

it's not your right to dictate how people live their own lives. and you've said some pretty off the wall things and you aren't even trying to address those, i've quoted you a few times now.

Some people are upset, and they don't need to hate you for hating gays, but you have yet to even come close to a valid reason as to why gay marriage should not be legal when marriage is a legal thing and to exclude m/m and f/f marriages would therefore be unlawful and unfair.

You need to state something other than your opinion, otherwise it's just your opinion and it doesn't mean squat other than a vote here or there.

At least some of us have stated that it's unequal. If you feel that marriage is to be left to religion then you should consider asking your local representative to create a bill to change the wording from marriage to something else so that marriage can be kept with religious ceremony. To have it any other way would be unfair and unequal.

We are arguing the legality of things, where things should be equal for all persons.

I don't think it's going to be one of those.

I agree with Gagan, here. (Big surprise).

It just seems like Shayhan27 is just repeating the things he's heard on the commercials and hasn't backed up any of his opinions with substance.

I am not trying to gang up on you or convince anyone that you are a loser...

i was responding to the post about a connection made between "black struggles" and prop 8... AA, which was supposed to be about equality did nothing but open more doors for *****ing and close doors to those that actually earned the position...all to be more fair and equal...seems hella fair to me...and we are still dealing with it...

you vote no on 8 and then all of a sudden you got scam marriages for financial gains, you have less than solid family foundations, lawsuits over non-equality (sound familiar?) , etc..

voting yes on 8 doesnt mean you HATE gay people, thats the most ignorant reoccurring theme in this thread...it just means you value traditional marriage

If traditional marriages are so sacred, why do 50%+ end in divorce?

It would be more acceptable and im sure it would allow more kids to experiment at a younger (less informed) age.

hmm...i'll look into that then

Im definitely not with the idiots that think this will create brainwashed kids, but i am not agreeing with people who say it will have zero effect on the upbringing of a child.

But true it can go both ways i guess.

Please explain.

Scam marriages? Because gay are less trust-worthy than straight people?

Less than solid family foundations? Really?

Lawsuits? For what exactly?

Please explain "valuing traditional marriage". Does that mean that a marriage between a man and a woman is more likely to succeed and produce children that will contribute to society?

With all due respect, that is a joke.

A straight couple is no more likely to raise children better than a gay couple.

AA is stupid. It was an attempt to force a business or government agency to admit/hire minorities cause they weren't. It was a stupid way to enforce those rules.

The connection between black people and prop 8 is this, and it's already been upheld in court, is that way back when blacks and whites could not legally marry even though the law stated there was to be no discrimination based on race. Same holds true for the legality of marriage. It's not ok to discriminate due to sexual orientation, this is what the courts have voted.

I feel they are right, you feel they are wrong and come nov 5th, we will know how CA as a whole feels about it.

good point

I believe divorce is highly looked down upon as well, but there are no religious divorce ceremonies. It's all legal stuff. This is all legal stuff.

There is nothing that would make me "experiment" with another man.

I have ALWAYS known that I am straight. My gay friends have ALWAYS known they were gay.
