Final Build Update:
the car is actually running well right now, im getting it alligned and balance tomorrow
its running well, but rubbing on the coilover sleeve on one side, so i need to get that worked out and then it should be all good

btw the exhaust pipe turned completely blue for some reason, not sure why. still looks cool though

maybe, if i change the suspension. its got those jic coilovers and they are pretty damn stiff, i would die if i took it off-road. probably won't have those too long but we'll see. my friend's forester is getting better and better and its going to be a lot taller than it is now, ill probably end up driving that in rallyx

I saw your post over in the Pimp GC8 thread on NASIOC, which surprised me because I thought you were still hunting for you immobilizer issues. Not to many updates lately huh? I'm glad to see the car is on the road. Nice Choice on the seats, full buckets/non-reclining FTW. That could be a serious machine, but the next thing you need to do is get some Dunlop Star Specs. Tires are the key!

you hit it right on the money. i have 3/4 of a set of 17x7.5" rims sitting in my garage waiting for the time when i can afford some 235/40/17 dunlop start specs (money is key). thats the next thing that i need so i can really get competitive in autox/track

good to see that it's running finally, did you use paul from ECS's writeup to minimize fitment issues with the dash? Are you planning to fill it in somehow?
Looks great!

ECS had a guide to installing the dash? i wish i knew about that, putting that thing in was such a pain
i want to fill it but i'm not sure how exactly. thats on my list of things to do along with a couple other little things as well

yeah, the heater core was just the nasty prelude to the dash bar. Seems like it's possible to mount it at the stock location, but it leaves the bar a little low eh?
Here's the thread with paul's writeup:
http://www.rs25.com/forums/showthrea...t=30943&page=3
Here's the other site with good photo documentation of the heater core and dash bar install, except he welded in the mounts, but it is good to see for the positioning at least:
http://www.sebaru.net/Project%20Seba...0SwapHome.html
I think the dash has been one of the tougher parts of the swap, I'm almost looking forward to the wiring after putting up with all this.
again, good work, that dash install is about on par with what paul was able to do on his own car haha

little update here
so the ecu connectors were messed up on the inside worse than i thought it would be. Tried to fix it, but turns out i have to replace all four of the connectors. There is a really bad connection with some of the stuff in the car, so for now i am not going to drive it until i replace those connectors. I have a harness coming for wednesday, but the shipment got rescheduled to friday :/
also, the tire on the passenger rear was rubbing on the coilover because the camber in the rear was -2.8 driver's side and -3.something on the passenger side and it the camber is not adjustable in the rear, so i ordered some H&R camber bolts which should be coming wednesday from JSC Speed
One more thing, i guess i should have replaced the rubber valve cover gaskets, when the engine gets warm, it leaks a little oil from the passenger side valve cover. I have one coming for the end of the week, ill have to replace that and put some of that liquidish gasket maker on again
