Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

You don't really HAVE to do all that work before adding power... do you? I mean I did it with my old mopar back in the day... just throw in a big block and drive it... soft & sloppy suspension, non-power drum brakes at each corner, and all!

Alot of people recommend making sure you can drive the power you add... but then some of the parts like the brakes, I'd think would reflect heavly on your driving style as well

yea rewsupul is right...technechly u COULD just throw on a turbo and be done with it...buuutttt, its not a good thing to do...the AVO turbo may work good just cause the engine is already basicly made to support it(aka wrx) but when u start adding power u put strain on all your cars parts...not just engine stuff...so if u go put 15 psi in yur impreza with no other work done like new support rods, blah blah blah, etc... then yur gonna wear yur stock engine parts down and most like end up with a blown up engine...ppl dont realize how much a turbo strains a non-turbo car...u really should build up the engine if yur gonna throw a turbo on especially if u front mount it or boost up the psi a bunch...

to strengthen the engine you can basicly replace every moving part, along with the block and heads, depend on the total boast you want would vary greatly on how far you'd go. The cheapest way to get good performance would be a EJ257 swap. Tho if you want more power or to make it more of your own, there are afew companies that sell "racing" short blocks like cobb with can really take alot of strain

I might just do a swap in a few years..

ok so my buddy came by with his STi today and proposed a trunk swap. Why not I said. The STi looks Super Sleeper now without the wing. and I ended up taking the top half of the wing off after i saw that it looked a bit bulky. The little 2.5i looks pretty sleak now, alot better than some crazy after market wing. Ill have a pic up in a few days. added like 5 lbs to the ride, but that just means I should just spend a few extra days at the gym...

Ok so last night when i took the top half off i didnt notice that there are UNpainted parts of the spoiler that are exposed when the top half if off. the whole thing is back on. Its freakin huge, im either gonna get used to it, or swap it back in the next week. we shall see.

kind of a fun look though.

hey guys, i need help with picking new tires. I currently have 18x8 rims and the tires are 215/40/18.
Do you know what tires would fill wheel-well gap better (without lowering springs)?

thanks

hey you really dont nned to fil the well. the less sidewall you have the better. makes for a stiffer tire meaning it is more responsive. Unless they are worn out, then yeah get some new ones. ride looks cool right now.

So when you put the Spolier on, did it just fit right on? cause always wondered if there was a difference in the size of the trunk. And does you lid open up all the way now that STI spoiler on there?

ok so we did a trunk swap, the 04 sti and the 06 2.5 use the same exact body. it fit perfect. BUT we didnt swap the spring rods that open the trunk so now his lid POPs up, and mine needs to be lifted up. im thinking we are going to swap the springs soon too. another thing is, the locks are also switched so i have to open from the inside.. but its ok,
