Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Great to see this thread coming along.

How are those front tower bars working out for you, JChow and fung87?
Noticable improvement?

No significant difference.
You may feel a slightly different response in steering - a tad bit more responsive.
But other than that, it's only there for rigidity purposes.

If you would like to improve handling performance, get a set of:

Springs + Struts combo, or coilover set, and a larger rear sway bar.
and of course, new tires.

I have a 20mm Sti rear sway bar lying in my garage, yet to be installed cause I'm so busy and L A Z Y

Hmm, well I did install the Weapon R on my 06, and I did get it from Rallitek. It works/fits fine but the directions are pointless. Actually they really confused me at first, they said that the newer models may need a hole drilled into the intake for a sensor. No such hole is needed. There are three vacuum ports on the intake pipe, two come from each side of the motor and the other is from the bottom of the AIT sensor tube. The vacuum tubing included in the kit may not be large enough for the AIT sensor, so I used the stock tube and a piece of the weapon r tubing. I've had it running for 600+ miles and no idle problems or anything else.

I've noticed more pull in the 3500+ RPM range, also the sound is pretty nice. I'll post some pics ASAP.

its good to hear that, it was making me think twice about purchasing the weapon R for my 2.5i. Im being offered a pretty good deal on an injen intake from a 2005 rs and im seriously thinkin about purchasing it, however im hesitating due to fitting problems and such. But if the weapon R seems to work fine maybe the injen should work out too? =/

It should, if there's only 2 vacuum ports on the intake then you can use a T-Fitting for two of the vacuum lines.

I've got the injen it works fine, just have to do like ralayer said and T one of the vacuum lines. I've got close 1500 miles with mine in and not one problem or cel.

the wrx short throw is the same thing, just stay away from the STI since its 6-speed.

Bunch of stuff I'd like to blurb out.

I was wondering,.. does you lose gas mileage using a CAI.

Shoot,.. I searched here in the forums and this lady had a black rs and the wrx had to 'work it' to keep up.

Anyways,.. back to the CAI part,.. does it pull in more air, therefore using up more gas. IDK..

is the weaponr intake a CAI or short ram?

and how much extra noise does it make?

o yea forgot to add.. ordering some Tein Basics today. Hopefully I get it right after July 4th, and get it installed by that week. Still can't find a good shop around.. its a PITA. I'll get some pics up when it's installed.

CAI actually helps you gain about 2-3mpgs, the intake of more oxygen just squeezes out more combustion from the same amount of gas.

The weapon R is a short ram intake.
