When it comes down to it, my family/friends are more important to me than your life is, and I will do what must be done to protect them tell help can come or we can get out of the area to our evac spot (a ranch up north of the bay friends/family are all to meet at)
Why are you constantly talking about how you need to shoot people?

Need: No
Will do if I must to get the job done: Yes

Big difference there, need would say there was somthing wrong with me, that I was a sociopath. In my case there is no desire to have to kill someone, but...there is no hesitation to do such if I am pushed into a corner where I must defend life/property.

See this is the problem with some libtards, they just don't get that there is a huge difference betwene the two viewpoints.

5 days of basic necessities (food, water, clothes, first aid)
Sleeping bag big enough for two
Mini tent

I wont mention the items that could be deemed illegal.

In my house I have earthquake supplies that make my oh ish bag look like nothing... Two large backpacks ready to go with everything but the actual firearms. From survival clothes, boots, first aid kit from hell (has everything in it), a few high end flashlights, smoke signals, flares, compass, basic tools like hammer, pliers, scissors, folding machete, lots of energy suppliments loaded with carbs and lots of protein bars as well as some cannned food that I can use (you can cook it right out of the can).

That's just some of the items... The firearms would be added on the day of use, not sure what I'd take, it'd depend on the situation... I have 14 rifles, 2 shotguns, and 8 pistols and more ammo than I could ever really need (all varieties too, hollows, FMJ, soft tip, non lethal shotgun to 12g slugs, and all others in between, so I have a nice selection to choose from... Not to mention all the accessories I have for the rifles and pistols that simply clip on universally.

My wife and I are ready for a 15.0 earthquake, as long as our house doesn't fall down, but I doubt it would since it's made really well (redwood house made in the 20's, back when they made them REALLY strong and made to last). Everything has been re-enforced and earthquake proofed (within reason).

the Yucatan Meteor was only a 13.0 magnitude so 15.0 = earth cracks in half. i'm sure your house is sturdy and all but when its floating in space Macross style i think you'll be boned

Mine has a military sterile surgery kit (field) and 3 IV setups in it too. Only thing I am not set up to do, is major reconstruction. I could however, in a pinch amputate a leg/arm and give the person a better than 50% chance of comming thru it.

Great thread. I have been putting my stuff together piece by piece. Still trying to figure out how long I would shelter in place.

My wife works 64 miles from home so we alredy have a system in place to meet up if all communications are lost.

One thing I like in particular that alot of people forget is food for the pets. Cant forget about the little guys.

I didn't mention it, but yeah. We always have a new bag of food in the house WELL before we need it.

Pets are taken care of in both my Shelter in place stuff and my BOB. Always add to the list if you have pets...

1 leash per dog (truth is cats will find their own food/take care of themselves)
1 harness NOT COLLAR per dog
5 days food per dog
1 set of 4 booties to fit each dog (paws WILL get ripped up as you travel over rough surfaces, protect from that)
1 30 day supply of medications for all animals.

Now, horses are a whole other deal, but if you have horses you already know what you need around in a emergency.

Sad to say, because I love my dogs...but if its them or starve...dog is on the menu. However I will take down other peoples dogs/cats before my own, and I ain't picky so there is always an abundance of rat, squirelle, racooon, and such around.

As we recently learned, shooting an unarmed person is not a justifiable homicide.

If looterguy just needs water/food or first aid for his family (maybe his oh &^*&^ bag caught fire), consider preserving life IN GENERAL, rather than use a natural disaster as an excuse to live out sociopath fantasies.
