Oh $*#@ bag, do you have one?
Useless fact for everyone:
San Pedro, California is the Croatian capitol of the West Coast. There are a TON of Croats there, so if you want to meet hot chicks, go to San Pedro, especially during one of the Croatian festivals... Croatian chicks are SMOKING HOT!
That has nothing to do with survival, but could be related to procreation, so I guess if you look really hard you can see "Hot chick" as a form of survival since you are more likely to bone a hot chick without a condom (because who wants a condom separating your D from a hot chicks nana?!) which could refer to procreation and keeping the human race going for generations to come!
hahahha!

High speed, low drag = good, a compliment. "His **** is so squared away, he's high speed, low drag."
Low speed, high drag = insult, a derogatory epithet similar in vulgarity to The N Word when used in reference to any member of a combat arms outfit.
"I knocked that mother ****ers teeth out for calling me LS,HD".

Bump for Bug out Bag thread.
I live at sea level in Pacifica but I'm right next to some high hills. My main concern is a Tsunami flooding where I live so my pack is meant to be quick, light and get my family to high ground and sustain them for a few days.
Warm clothes
Lightweight tent
Good Quality sleeping bags
Emergency Rations and water for 6 days for family and dog (6 year shelf life)
Coleman propane cylinders & lightweight adaptor to cook on them
Hunting Knife
Trenching tool
Water purifying tablets
Firemaking equipment
Radio that is wind up/solar/batteriesand also has USB to charge phones
Lightsticks, flashlights and batteries
Mess kit & cooking utensils
Personal protection (lets keep it vague)
Cash in low denomination bills
Good quality waterproof bags to keep things dry.
If we need to survive at home without fuel, lights, water or food I've got that covered too in my main disaster supplies but my main bug out bag can get me and the family to high ground and keep us warm, fed and protected for a few days. My stuff is seperated between 2 good quality backpacks
Any thoughts about things I might have missed are appreciated.

The bug out bag or "oh **** bag" do you have one? If so, what do you carry?
Each of my cars has a backpack stuffed in the back. In it I carry:
1 pair of jeans
1 throw away rain pauncho
2 space blankets
2 pair of socks
2 shirts
3 days dry survival food (food bars, 3000 calories per day)
3 days water boxs (water for one person for 3 days)
1 good folding knife
1 good hunting knife
2 bandannas
1 first aid kit
Now on top of this I have a BOB in the house that is the same, but also includes food for 3 people+2 dogs for 5 days, water the same, ammo for main handgun, ammo for main hunting rifle, and ammo for the shotgun in it. Added recently, a water purification unit, water purification pills, 2 more hunting knifes, another empty backpack, dog leashes and harnesses, and upped the clothing for 3 people.
For the folks that do not have one, I am curious...why? we live in a state that gets huge natural disasters (earthquakes, fire, floods). It always pays to be ready to go.

I need to stock up on some more smoke bombs... I forgot to buy more on the 4th of july, dammit.
They are small and effective, and very visible, especially the bright colors. Just a tip for you guys.

I'm going to ask the local cops to gather some c-4 or something so I can be sure to blow at least this side of the bay bridge, then on my way back I'll blow the caldecott and the dirty hipsters will be quarantined.
i order mine by the case from a guy in WA. solid 3 min burn time. one floods my gargage to the point of people thinking my house was on fire.
