I say it every year I think: Laguna Seca paddock area. TONS of parking, small body of water, grass once you cross the bridge between turns 4 and 5.

Even if it cost $10,000 to put on the event, it wouldn't be astronomical prices. Hell, Hammy was $15 because you had to pay the park fee. $10,000 event with 500 people is $20 a head, 400 people is $25

you do say that every year. But the problem is getting everyone to pay. I dont see a problem pyaing $20, $30, or even $50 for an annual meet, epecially if it comes with food and drinks. Its a small price to pay to see everyone out at one place one day out of the year. Not everyone thinks that way though

I doubt it's reach above $30. Anyways, I just looked at the fees. They used to have a "paddock only" fee but now it's all "track/paddock." there are still lots surrounding it that are viable.

Oh, and I say we move the meet to a different region each year. North Bay folk always whine "but then we'd have to drive so faaaar." EVERYONE ELSE DRIVES FAR!

Let's see, us North Bay people spend an entire tank of gas JUST TO GET DOWN THERE!!! Even with the price of gas being low like it is right now, that's still at least $25 worth of gas.

Your whinemaking skills are over the top, though. I think you'd fit right in with the Gallo family wineries.
God forbid I don't want to stand around in the heat and sweat to death and pay $15 and sometimes not even get food cause the fat *** douche bags take too much food that they don't even eat. I helped organize the first 2 of these BBQ hammy meets, so I know what goes into and what some people get out of it. Now if I paid $15 and got catered BBQ and paid parking before hand and didn't have to wait in a long *** line trying to get in, it would be a different story. But that's not the way it works, it's $10 for basic BBQ that I could do at home and drinks that I could bring from home.

And as far as having the meet in Novato cause you have to drive 2+ hours, boo hoo, the majority of the people on the boards are from the Bay Area. North Bay is not in the Bay Area. So the meet should stay in the Bay Area.

1. That I'm aware of, food only ran out ONCE. Once out of 8 meets is a 12.5% average, so that means 87.5% of the time, food was available.
2. $15 for catered BBQ? I used to manage a BBQ restaurant, and when we did catering events for the likes of NBC Studios, costs alone were around that price. So finding a caterer to work the event for free (and eat some costs) might be a bit of a problem.
3. If you can do this at home, why aren't we having the meet at your house?
4. Pre-paid parking? One year, I worked the line so it made things fast and easy - I pre-paid 20 tickets at a time, then collected the money from each person, so things moved faster. Trying to tell who pre-paid for parking and didn't would be a nightmare, and would hold up the line even more.

I'm not the one whining about driving. I don't mind driving for a good, well organized event once a year. The fact is, Marin County borders San Francisco Bay, therefore is considered "Bay Area". It's one of the 9 counties considered to be in the Greater Bay Area, and therefore is part of the Bay Area.

Your statement leads me to believe that you are simply too lazy and too cheap to put any REAL effort into attending the meet. You want catered BBQ handed to you, you want to drive right in, probably have assigned parking right next to the entrance, so you don't have to walk, a portable misting tent set up for you, so you can stay cool, (lounge chair included), and all the hottest BAIC girlz fawning all over you, getting your drinks and food for you.
I think you need a little geography lesson.

Marin County (in which Novato is located) borders the San Francisco Bay, therefore it would be considered "Bay Area".

No, I know better than to support a meet that puts money in someone's pocket. That year that food ran out, food went and got bought for them. I know it did not come out of the pocket of the organizer. It was left over money that wasn't spent. I was there for second, third, fourth, missed the fifth and went to the sixth Mt Hammy meet. I know what's involved. The fact is, this isn't the same i-club it was back then.

And ok smartass, how much money would be involved to have a catered BBQ for people? How much would people have to pay? Since you seem to be all high and mighty and seem to know everything and have an answer for everything.

And if you ask the majority of people who live in the Bay, they will tell you that Novato is not the Bay Area. So take your geography lesson and shove it up your ***.

except the fact that Novato is right next to a huge body of water which has "bay" in its name. This qualifies it as being in an area called the "bay area"
there are several "bays" in this west coast region of california. look at google maps. http://maps.google.com/maps/mm?ie=UT...3,1.73584&z=10

I think it's best if you just stop posting in this thread. Go to the meet if you want, don't go if you don't want.

I'll post wherever I want to post. I don't give a crap what a map says, the majority opinion of people from the Bay Area is they wouldn't even know where Novato is, so it's out of the Area. That's an opinion, anybody who doesn't like it can STFU!

^ this crap is the reason that we have had so many problems with this meet the last few years we all spent to much time bickering back and forth about who’s ****ing idea is better. This thread is to find a place that is good for everyone so far there has only been like 4 places suggested of them Novato sounds like the best choice for now. If you have a better ****ing idea then post it. As far where the bay area is and is not I’m not going even get into because it seems that everyone has their own idea. As far cost is concerned we haven’t even picked out a place yet so no one has any ****ing idea what it will cost

Alright now that I said that if you guys would like any help organizing the meet this year soot me a pm I would love to help get this thing back to its former glory.

+1 ^^^^^

I think it says something when members in the east or south bay, who would have to drive up to 2 hours to get to Novato are still saying it looks like the best choice so far. Clearly people don't mind a drive to an [U]annual[U] event (short of driving 4+ hours), REGARDLESS of their location. Please, the 3, 4, however many of you officially organizing this, come back in the thread and start making location suggestions, because so far there's Mt. Hammy, and that park in Novato. If anyone attending wants something different, and you're 100% positive that it can handle the 400 possible cars that the organizers feel it needs space for, make some suggestions. I'm happy with both of the current possibilities, and look forward to hearing/seeing even more possible locations.
