The great thing about Hamilton is that its so close to me that planning is simple. (Planning for food, supplies, events). Getting everything up Hammy is easy since my close by friend uses his truck to get all the 2000 drinks up there, I wouldn't be able to use the said truck for the north bay...

If we buy food here's the numbers we're looking at:

1. 2,000 cans and bottles (soda and water)
2. Meat for 500 people, around 450lbs of meet
3. Bread, buns to go with that
4. Chips, snacks, cookies
5. beans, rice, etc

All of that = into A LOT of stuff!!! Getting it all up north would be tricky.

I'm also very unfamiliar with that place and its offices so I dont know how much it costs to rent the place, etc.

I love the way it looks and am not trying to sound negative... just realistic. This place brings on a lot of unknowns and I hate unknowns. I just hope its all as smooth as hammy.

Sorry for being all negative, just a little worried... which is what I do best, hehehheh

hey Dan...trust me, anywhere if fine with me... since the main thing if to meet more people that you don't normally meet and have fun...and food too...although, I'm trying to stay on diet...since my wedding in dec, don't think I will eat a lot...haha

I know getting a new place is a lot of thing to take care of...knowing if they are going to let us rent it or not, how to transport, this and that...

just if you need any help...let me know.

Only if you don't rely on North Bay residents who are eagerly lining up to help make this event ROCK!!
I'm also very unfamiliar with that place and its offices so I dont know how much it costs to rent the place, etc. Come up here twice - meet at LIC, scope it out pretty easily, and second time day of the meet.

Roo is right though. I mean i know you want to make sure this thing goes without a hitch, but us north bay folk are part of i-club too and wanna make sure this thing is just as successful as everyone else.

I mean there are a bunch of us that are more than willing to jump right in since it is a drive for you for the planning.

and as i said before if neccesary i have a generator to donate, which wouldnt be needed cuz we have electricity at that spot.

also as far as pre buying stuff i have a huge deep freezer to store the stuff in so carting it from all the way down there wouldnt be neccesary.

roo posted the link but i can repost it on cost of the site and everything it comes with.

and dan i know this is your thing you wanted to plan and no one is tryign to take ti from you but from a standpoint of physical location and how easy it would be for us vs you it just makes more sense.

idealy compared to everything else that has come up stafford is the a great spot to consider

compared to the other places we:

dont have to worry abotu fitting all the cars

it has electricity

has bbq rotessire and prep area with running water sink right next to it

plenty of space for activities, disc golf, horse shoes, and whatever else

good chance of a decent temp since its right next to the water and its novato which, yeah it does get hot, but rarely sweltering

i mean all in all it has the best of all of the worlds.

just my $.02

I like the north bay idea. I'm in sf so pretty equidistant and it just looks like a great space.

Look where I went today (Stafford Park)

I did not read the whole thread since there is way too much to read through. I was told there is arguing going on about selecting a location. Honestly, I don't care where you guys decide to have it. I am just excited to go somewhere and be with friends and not end up in the hospital or in jail that night.

I think this is the same place that Roo went and took some pictures. But I went with some friends today and I love this place. I am just posting for informational reasons and not suggesting anything. I like this place very much. The drive was so beautiful. The park was so beautiful. There is plenty of parking space and it is easy to get to. It is located in Novato in case no one knows where this is. There is even a cheese factory for those that are into that kind of stuff.

Enjoy.

Wish i could have gone with you guys up there. I was at our vehicle barn building a shelf inside one of our trailers from 10a-315p.

and I did a little offroading behind the jail and got a bunch of mud all along the sides of my car

Wow, simply stunning Nikon. Beautiful pictures, and a beautiful park. If location for an event was chosen simply based on scenery, then this place blows Hammy away. I have a feeling it's going to be a tighter race than most of might have thought for location this year. Both Mt. Hammy and this park in Novato seem like good fits.

Weren't you just talking about someone whining? This sounds a lot like whining?

People have driven from other STATES to make hammy before. From SoCal. Hell my drive isn't much different from watsonville than yours is. Shoot I used to drive from watsonville to cupertino for the weekly meets. Driving is fun. I like to drive. I have no problem driving to hammy. Don't you like to drive?

I don't think that location choice should be based on someone feeling left out. I'm sure for the north bay shops and member it'd be nice to have a closer venue but it needs to come down to what works the best for the purpose.

That's come up before and been shot down. But smaller meets get put on from time to time for the hills.

How about posting the quote in context? It's a response to someone whining about having to drive FOR THE FIRST TIME. I've never had a problem with driving 2+ hours to a meet, then driving down the hill to pick up 109 pizzas in the back of my Forester, nor ice runs up and down the hill...

I just think that people from the South Bay might quit whining about it if it's their turn to drive for once. Seriously, once in eight years, and they make it sound like they're going to have to mortgage the house to afford the gas to get there, and it's all a financial hardship.
