Especially the plastic buckles and straps. If you load this pack up and go on a hike, you will get hotspots, back blisters, and will generally be hating life after using it. Most of the guys in Recon ditched the IBLE and used the old ALICE Mountain Packs.

There's a reason why the Marine Corps decided to replace the IBLE with a new pack. That's why there's so many of these IBLE's coming into the surplus market. Most of the time they're not complete, since guys lose pieces of the pack system when they turn them into CIF.
Yea i know they use a slightly different system now but this is the 2nd generation and they fixed some problems vs gen 1 with the black back.
I got a new unissued surplus main pack with excellent issued condition lid, hip belt, assault pack and radio pouch. Bought my sleep system that way too. Issued in excellent condition. Barnett, porter and konrads boot camp stuff.

All and all its better than my thin hi-tec backpack with stamped stays. Much more comfy carrying heavy loads.
135 for two BOB's im not complaining. I spent more on just one normal backpacking backpack lol.

Plus it holds more than my old packs. The assault pack holds more than i expected too.

Overall very happy with the purchase. Just bought another excellent condition camo bivy and intermediate cold bag w/compression sack for $50.
Unless you live in like montana you dont need all 3 bags together.

I've got a lot of different packs and the hardware seems to be the deciding factor for me as well. Broken zippers, snaps, clips, etc.. always kills the bag before its usefulness is done.

I went with their shorts because they were cheap. Quality seems comparable to the price and they do the job with all the same features as 5.11, but they're not as well manufactured. I ended up getting a pair of the pants as well and the pants seemed better made than the shorts, even though they are basically the same design. For the price, I'm satisfied though.

Guys honest opinion.......
Should i buy another eotech (already had one with the flip to side magnifier)
Or save my pennies for a trijicon acog?

I heard the 3x has better eye relief but i love that bigger field of the 4x even tho its one time closer.

Part of me just wants the bling factor i guess but i miss having a nice optic.
Been rockin the hell out of iron sights for a while now.

Its all preference really.. Personally I would never buy an EO-Tech over an Aim Point. Personal preference, different eyes perceive the holographic EO-Techs different, to me, they look like a fuzzy blob..

but I would take a Triji over either one everyday of the week. If you haven't shot looking thru one of those things.. Oh my are they amazing with the red Chevron reticle and the bullet drop ticks.

I'm actually a fan of iron sights, but it also depends on what you're doing obviously. I'd hold out for the Trij and function over bling Very close to doing some Trij HD sights on my M&P.

I agree with both of you. I am very good with iron sights. I have an arms flip up rear and a *cringe* mangpul......front flip up lol. I want a new nicer one...... My eotech was awesome but i saw the fuzzyness in the magnifier. Never at 1x tho.
This was my baby. Picked it up brand new on ebay for 395
Likely stolen lol.

I love shooting with both eyes open and i have shot looking thru a 4x green reticle trij. acog. Unfortunately it was with a .50 beowulf and i only was able to shoot two rounds
Still worth it.

Thinking about passing on a full rifle kit, I really don't like the A2 front sight/handguard setup. I'd rather just buy an upper (or parts) to look the way I want, and assemble whatever I need to.

That being the case, would something like this:

Complete AR 15 AR15 Upper 223 5.56 12" rail : Semi Auto Rifles at GunBroker.com

be a good deal @ $250 w/o BCG/CH?

It doesn't list the round count, it doesn't say if he built it himself or was factory assembled, I haven't ever heard of the company, and its a 1:8 twist.. If the price doesn't go too much higher than the $135 dollars of what its at I would pick it up i guess, but i wouldn't spend good money on it personally.

I'm guessing he assembles them himself, he runs a shop out of MO from what I can find online.

I'll keep an eye on it, if I can snag it for a good price I'll think about it. I'll keep looking for decent deals beyond that though. Thanks!
