Since that one is fairly common, prices aren't that much different IMO. I got mine at Reeds and Targetmasters was only $10 less, but Reeds used to give out a free lane voucher with theirs, a $20 value if you're by yourself.
They drop off the roster in August, so I'd probably pick one up sooner rather than later. I missed out on getting a .45 last week because they sold out before I could pick one up since they dropped off the list on Friday
Between the two of us, we have Glock, XD and M&P. The M&P is still my favorite.I checked a few online places too and the prices shipped with FFL were basically the same as local, so just call a few local shops or check Gallery of Guns.
1 thing I like about the glocks vs the xd is you can dry fire a glock like a madman. But the xd has the fully cocked striker. So you could potentially fracture your firing pin.
If in doubt, FLAT OUT

Heck yeah. They now offer a .22LR ver of it that is supposed to be able to be brought into CA. Not the same I know, but it would still be fun.
Not a must for me, but poly is a lot lighter to carry and functionally I've had no issues with any of my poly pistols. At the end of the day though, 1911 is my final answer
Yep. Having shot them all and owning models of each, the M&P is the easiest handling and so far, extremely reliable. Each has its pros and cons and I feel the M&P has the most pros of them. In terms of being able to hit something with them, they are all more similar than not; I don't feel one is vastly more accurate than the others and none of them are as accurate as my 1911.

Say again?
Colt's Manufacturing Company LLC > Catalog > Colt Rifles > Colt LE6920 Series
Nutnfancy is a hobby shooter that makes youtube videos lol.
I'd take his opinions on guns and gear with a grain of salt. If you question the durability of the AR platform, I suggest you look up the BCM Filthy 14 torture test. That AR went 60k rounds without a single cleaning. Show me a Mini that can do that.

They did a test where the upper reciever completely exploded after being dunked in water and fired once.
Im sure we could disagree all day until our asses catch fire.
And ill bow when an AR can do 60k with little to no oil like the mini 14.
Even the failzero bolts and carriers that are coated need some sort of lube down the line.
My custom stag has been through 10k rounds of tula/ wolf
And close to 10k of the good xm193.
Only cleaned once between the two.
The only problems I had was the magazines getting too dirty and the followers not locking the bolt back. And my buddy that was shoving 11 rounds in the mags too.

Also, ill believe someone with HANDS on time with everything he reviews instead of someone who reviews in theory.
He is much more than a hobbiest shooter.
His reviews are not biased and he is truthful about every little detail of anything he is reviewing.

So far, all you've offered is conjecture and cited Nutnfancy (lol) as if he is some kind of subject matter expert.
Here's an article from a few years back when the BCM Filthy 14 was at 31k rounds. It has since hit 60k and still going strong.

Where's your 60k round Mini 14?

the 1911 is the most accurate pistol ive ever fired.
my buddy went all out and got the springfield loaded with trijicon sights.
the milspecs are slightly less accurate due to their loose tolerances. better reliability in rugged conditions tho.
The M&P is definately more ergo than the others and feels a lot nicer in the hand.
glocks and springXDs feel like toys.
My dream pistol is a TRP operator in olive drab or black.
i would mill it out for a trij. RMR too.
that would be so sexy.

Show me documentation where a Mini 14 went 60k rounds with no oil.

I didnt claim the mini 14 could fire 60k rounds with little to no oil. i meant rather that id like to see an AR 15 fire that many rounds with little to no oil.
you failed to mention that they cleaned the rifle after 23k rounds and eventually the bolt broke.
anywho.....take care of any rifle right and it will treat you well.
i think the only other FTF i had in my stag was using .223 with a heavy buffer and that failed to lock the bolt back as well.

Gen 4s have the switchable backstrap, though I haven't had a chance to try one out yet to see if it really helps any. The new XD single stacks do as well, but I don't expect those will get CA approval, so we probably won't see them here.
