seriously, sucks for Yao. i never was a real fan of his, but dude was ballin this year and asserting himself more. he was really giving us probs in game 1 & 2. i hope he recovers and comes back strong NEXT SEASON. if he doesn't, those guys could be in trouble for real cuz T-mac is chronically injured & on the downside of his career.

Rockets playing hungry+enthused again......Lake Show's back to their old ways. had to know Houston would come out and try to send the message that they weren't gonna just give up. we just didn't match their intensity.

our defense is horrible, and we're not getting after loose *****. get out there and check Brooks & Lowry! those guys are KILLING us! we need to settle down on offense and take care of the ball....waaaaay to many turnovers!

But I must admit, I don't know if rockets have what it takes to beat them in game 5.

Lakers are gonna lose this one.....DUH! the series will be tied 2-2, but even tho the Rockets are Yao-less from here on out, the Lakers are the ones that are in trouble. they are woefully inconsistent, esp on D. Odom will likely be feeling ill effects from that hard fall on his back, so w/Bynum doing jack squat, Pau needs to shoulder all the rebounding, scoring, & D in the paint. i'm not sure if he's up to that challenge. he's just not that kind of player.

the Rockets have ZERO pressure on them. everyone expected them to lose the series before Yao even got injured. after he did, people thought they were done for sure.......i didn't & don't. the burden is on the Lakers' shoulders to win. they have lofty expectations of winning a title this year, but i've been feeling all season that they aren't ready to do that yet. they're stocked w/talent, but they have not shown a CONSISTENT will to win, like all champions should. the Celts had it last season. the Cavs do this season. what am i getting at?

well, the Lakers need to play this game out strong. if they just tank it, they'll be going into game 5 wounded and battered physically &, more importantly, emotionally. they NEED to win game 5 at Staples or they might be done.

the whole squad played terrible today. Shannon is the only one that showed up and that does EVERY game. KB & Fish need to be better leaders and not meltdowns like this happen. this is utterly embarrassing & SHAMEFUL!

this is the LAST wake up call we're gonna get. if we don't shape up after this, we will be DONE. i'm out until game 5. i'm so F'ing pis$ed right now, y'all just don't understand! props to the Rockets for thoroughly kicking our @$#es today. they are the only other squad in the L, besides the Cavs that get after every game. i only wish the Lakers had half their heart & toughness.

 

i know i said i was out until game 5, but it don't feel good about how i left things in my previous reply.

although i'm still real disgusted at the Lakers' gutless performance this afternoon, the fact is that we did get accomplish what we wanted outa this roadtrip......we got a win and took back homecourt. it woulda been great to have won both games, but, well, most of you following this thread and the "official" one for the Warriors season should know that i'm not a real fan of "shoulda, woulda, coulda...." reflections. so, lemme just address the just the cold hard facts...

the Rockets are playing their hearts out. much props to them for their courage & efforts. they've fought hard to even things up, and now the Lakers are in a real dogfight.

but as frustrating & inconsistent as their play has been, this series is coming down to a best of 3.
the Lakers need 2 more wins to advance to the next round.
LAKERS, focus yourselves on getting the first of those 2 victories by playing w/some PRIDE+PURPOSE and winning game 5 on Tuesday at Staples Center!
I and all the other Lake Show faithful still have your backs!

the guys better bring it tonight. they need to storm out of the gate and keep pushing until the very end of the game.

as always, containing guards and their dribble penetration will be vital to us getting the W. we gotta go HARD after loose *****+rebounds and close out on shooters esp at the 3 pt line as well.

i haven't read about Odom being able to play tonight or not, but, regardless, Bynum has to stay outa foul trouble & give us SOMETHING.....if not buckets, control the paint by protecting the cup & cleaning the glass. Pau can't do it all himself.

we're most def gonna need some 3's but can't settle for J's all night either. take it to the hole and put pressure on the rockets D. we haven't been getting enough FT opportunities!

if we don't get up for this game, i dunno what will motivate us!
