KB is hot, all business tonight.

 

yeah, KB was just bananas tonight. he did try to do a lil too much in the middle of the 4th & turned over the ball instead of passing outa double teams, but can't fault him too much cuz hardly anyone else was doing anything. props to Shannon Brown, Odom, Ariza, Sasha, and, at times, D-Fish & Odom for decent efforts.

the rest of the guys, esp Pau & Bynum, better dig deep and show some heart next time out and beyond. Pau, is back to his old ways and playing soft as $#it. i have no clue wtf is wrong w/him, but he keeps flailing around w/the ball and gets stripped or throws it away almost every time. his rebounding STINKS and so does his FT shooting. he needs to start giving us SOMETHING. right now, he's a liability out there. the very few rebounds, blocks & buckets he's getting are just cuz he's a 7 ft'er. he's not moving his feet+body at all. ASSERT YOURSELF, you soft @$# b*tch, geez!

i'm glad we won, but i'm still not happy w/our overall effort. we still need to be consistent w/our D, REBOUND BETTER!!!!!!!!, take care of the ball, & close out qtrs+games stronger. i'm telling y'all Lake Show fans, we need to be in it to win it...........ALL!! to do that, we can't settle for 1/2 as$ed efforts. we have to BRING IT and KEEP BRINGING IT each & EVERY game!

now back home to Staples to hopefully take care of biz on Mon. no 1/2-stepping, we need to sock the Jazz in the mouth from the jump until the final buzzer!

dang, Luke's out "indefinitely" w/a torn ligament in his ankle. he's been giving us good minutes lately too, esp his versatility+ballhandling/playmaking ability. Trevor's knee is a lil gimpy as well, but PJ says he should be good to go tonight. we're gonna need his energy, esp on D. i guess Powell & maybe even Morrison?? might get some minutes.

whoever's out there tonight better bring it tho. we need to just put the wraps on this series and rest up for round 2. i know KB+D-Fish understand the importance of closing things out asap. i expect Pau to bounce back tonight too. no way he has another bad game, esp at home. I have a feeling Lamar will be pumped as well.

Barkley just a minute ago on TNT's Inside the NBA, "I wanna see if the Lakers come out w/that killer instinct. They've been able to get out to big leads cuz they're so talented and just coasting. I want to see if they have that killer instinct that all championship contending teams have. So far, they haven't shown it."

AMEN! that's exactly what i've been saying this whole series and season! cmon, Lake Show, get out there and play these games like you're capable......NO MERCY! you gotta lay down the wood EARLY and OFTEN!

Another scary ending. How can you blow (again) a big lead?
Well a win is a win. Props to Lamar, he was hot tonight.
On to Rockets/Blazers.

 

scary ending, indeed! i didn't think we'd totally collapse, but i was dang pis$ed at giving up another huge 20pt lead. we had 3 good qtrs and then another HORRID 4th.
KB was having a nice, controlled game and then tried to do too much again. i know he was going for the KO, but he kept forcing shots and trying to split double teams instead of making the easy passes to open men. he needs to just chill and keep trusting the rest of the squad.

we also are still turning the ball over way too much, missing FTs--esp down the stretch in the 4th qtr, and giving up too many offensive rebounds! Barkley just echoed my feelings again saying, "this kind of stuff is really going to come back and bite them in the @s$ eventually."

i know we got the win, but we can NOT continue to make these kinds of mistakes, esp in close games. fortunately, we haven't had many in this series, but things will not get any easier from here. the Lake Show better check themselves before the 2nd round starts. the Rockets or Blazers will be much tougher opponents and pound us if we slack off like we've been doing. Pau & Bynum are have to play a whole lot better too. Our interior D is too soft. again, we are not boarding hard enough, and they're not giving us enough scoring or assists on the block. we need to control the paint.

Now, all of that said, i do want to end acknowledging the positive.....

--Lamar was a BEAST for us this series and our most consistent player. props to him for bringing it every game. we better re-sign this dude this off season.

--KB showed good leadership and really got us off to a good start, asserting himself offensively & still getting the other guys involved.

--BIG ups to Trevor & Shannon....those guys play the game like everyone should....w/enthusiasm & heart. much respect to them!

--thanks to D-Fish & Sasha for some shots from deep. we are really going to need them to keep it going as we get deeper into the playoffs. they played very good D on Deron this time out too.

Congrats on taking round 1, Lake Show, but this title fight has just begun! Rest up & get ready to slug it out in round 2!

okay, it's set now.....Lake Show vs Rockets! we swept them 4-0 during the reg season, but they're playing really well right now & are focused. if we're locked in tho, i like our chances, but we are really going to have to be sharp. Yao Ming is playing great. Brooks is quick and going to really work D-Fish, Shannon, & Farmar. their role players, incl Scola, Landry, Battier, Von Wafer, & Artest always bring a lota energy too.

can't wait until Monday!
