today's the day. no special gameplans necessary....the key to winning has been the same every game.....
--play hard D, and our offense will follow.
--keep Brooks in check & from running amuck into the key & on the arc.
--our bigs have to compete & not let Scola+Artest+Landry+Hayes outwork them.....body them up & off the block, contest shots, & REBOUND, REBOUND, REBOUND!
--again, if we are locked in on D, our scoring will take care of itself, but KB has to be aggressive from the jump.....not dominate the ball or scoring...just set the tone for the others.
we need to come out STRONG, and hit them w/their own game. if we pounce on them from the jump, it'll put a lot more pressure on them. they're not a come from behind team, but we still have to play w/energy+focus ALL GAME!!

well, we FINALLY got it done! props to the Rockets for a hard fought series. they earned a lota respect from me for their toughness and never give up attitude. even today, they stuck it out the best they could. if Yao wasn't injured, it would've been a much better game.
as for us, very good all around effort....our bigs came to play again, and were integral in getting us the W. as much as many Lake Show fans, incl myself, criticize Pau for being soft, he was a true force on both ends today. he boarded like a beast, didn't let Scola manhandle him in the post, and was assertive on offense.....great job!
bynum played well too, and w/Ariza's early buckets, helped get us off to a hot start w/his work in the paint, esp on D & his offensive rebounds+putbacks. the kid just needs to keep his head up and continue to grind. we're really gonna need him to be a consistent contributor and stay outa foul trouble to keep advancing.
much thx to the rest of the squad for coming out focused and playing hard. Farmar was under control & gave us good mins, esp checking Brooks. it's good to see Fish & Sasha hit a few shots too. they've both been struggling, but hopefully this gets them going cuz we really need them to keep hitting their J's, esp from deep, to spread the floor.
only dude that didn't play all that well was KB, but i like the maturity he showed by not forcing things. he trusted his dudes and kept creating for them rather than just jacking up shots.
now, time to recharge and get ready for the Nugs on Tuesday. it's gonna be an even tougher series cuz they're way more talented than the Rockets and have been playing just as hard, incl on D, which is something they weren't doing in the past. we're going to have to bring our A+ game and show up EVERY game cuz those guys have the firepower to really embarrass us if we don't. if ALL our guys play up to their capability, there's no stopping us tho!

Great series, great game. I knew they were going to win but now they have to look forward and batten down the hatches. No more of that on-off stuff. We can't risk it like that.

no matter what, it's gonna be a helluva series. young & athletic squads always give the Lake Show probs (see Blazers) while the Nugs aren't quite as quick as B-Roy+Co, they are long and really run the floor well, esp when K-Mart, Birdman, & Nene causing havoc in the paint. we aren't going to be able to put up any weak shots w/those dudes patrolling the key!
our shooters are going to have to be on their games cuz you know JR Smith, Melo, & Chauncey are going to let them fly. Kleiza is streaky and capable of getting serious buckets too. KB has to stay at home and lock down his men. he won't be able to slack off too much and roam on D, except when he's on Dahntay Jones, who isn't that much of a scoring threat. but the kid has a lota energy & some serious hops, so KB can't slack off too much.
the rockets series was hella draining and the Nugs are rested and ready to go. it would've been nice to have had a couple more days to recharge, but no one ever said the playoffs were easy. a lota people, incl. several of the 'experts' are picking the Nugs to win. maybe this will fire up our guys and make em come out and play w/chips on their shoulders. not to discount the Nugs, but, as always, if our squad plays their game, there's no stopping them!
winning game 1 is gonna be big tho. we can't give up homecourt from the jump and give the Nugs more confidence like we did vs the Rockets. again, Denver is too stacked & playing too well to come at half-a$#ed. our guys gonna bring it each & EVERY game!
can't wait until tomorrow!
