whata game! the Nugs played their hearts out, and Melo was a straight beast, but THANK GOD FOR KB!! dude got little to no help from just about everyone else on the team. fortunately, we had KOBE DOIN' WORK tonight! (yes, pun intended cuz i'm a clever **** like that, and, F what you heard...KB was+is still the REAL MVP!)

man, we really had to fight for this one. if the Denver had not missed so many FTs, we wouldn't have been able to pull this one out.
even tho most of our guys struggled, props to D-Fish for a few clutch shots, incl a couple key treys to keep us close down the stretch.

BIG ups to Trevor for that clutch steal at the end to help seal the win. he was in foul trouble most of the game and got eaten up by Melo, but he had a big pick a lil before that too!

Pau really got abused throughout the game, but good job down the stretch getting those offensive rebounds & a block. i thought those 2 straight FTs he missed were gonna cost us, but at least he came back and sank his next 2!

whew, we really stole this one cuz the Nuggets outplayed and had us on our heels for basically the whole game. i liked the fact that we didn't lose our composure and showed a lil more intensity, but we really have to play a whole lot better and smarter the rest of the series.

we can't keep getting beat in the paint. Pau+Drew+Lamar, you guys have to step it up and not be so lethargic. please, please, stop picking up foolish fouls too!
D-Fish, Sasha, Jordan, Brown & the rest of our shooters need to find their shooting strokes. Farmar & Brown were pretty good tonight, but Fish & Sasha have to be much better. KB can't keep bearing the scoring load himself. he's expending way too much energy, incl on D. he needs some help, fellas!!

BIG, BIG, win for us, but it's only one. we need 3 more to take this series. let's come back sharper & more assertive in game 2! dang, this is gonna be an awesome series!

that's what championship-worthy squads do...they find ways to win close games, even wheny they don't play well.

the Lake Show didn't get things clicking until the 4th qtr, but Denver should have won. they did themselves in w/all those missed FTs and mistakes during crunch time, incl Kmart's 2 costly fouls and that bad inbound pass by Carter. our 2 WARRIORS, KB+Ariza, really came thru tho!

it's great that we pulled this one out, but we gotta bring it a lot harder the rest of the way. we can't count on the Nugs to keep missing so many FTs & making mistakes. we have to take control of our own destiny & take our game to the Nugs. we can't keep letting them pounce on us and have to counterpunch. sock em in the teeth first+early+OFTEN!

off day for the Lake Show but Lebron & Dwight Howard are going at it right now. Bron is having a real good game & trying to one up Melo+KB's performances from last night. he got posterized by Courtney Lee a lil while ago tho.

 

wow, cavs vs. magic game was almost as good as our win over the Nugs last night! bron went for 49, but they came up short in the end thanks to some clutch shots by Rashard Lewis! the cavs were bound to lose sooner or later. they mowed down the pistons+hawks, but orlando is a much better squad than both of them. this should be an exciting series too!

can't wait to get after game 2 tomorrow! we need to play a lot better, esp coming outa the gate, than we did in game 1. if we can get this one too, it'd give us some serious momentum for the rest of the series!

fish finally hit a couple shots. he has been TERRIBLE in the playoffs.

Kobe won't be able to play at a high level and fight melo if this goes more than like 5 games or so. He's bound to get tired and beat up. they were really letting them play. Lot of no calls.

The fact that the lakers pulled that out and melo scored 3 times what he's been scoring throughout the playoffs is a bad sign.

As for the cavs. I'm glad they lost.

 

back to the casa w/time to spare! gotta get my Lake Show fit on and grab some munchies, but let's get the pre-game bits handled.......

def great to have D-Fish hitting those shots in game 1. that trey to end the first half and in crunch time were HUGE! we need him to keep it going. when he's got his stroke going, it helps us tremendously cuz it opens up the floor+creates opportunities+lanes for the rest of our squad.

we're gonna need everyone on our team to play better in general, well, except KB. he can't do much more than he already is. i mean, he can cuz he's KB, but we can't wear him down like that. he's working too hard, incl on D. our other dudes HAVE to contribute more, esp our bigs. play BIG, Pau+Drew+Lamar!! don't let the Nugs' frontline dominate you like in game 1. take it to THEM & control the paint at BOTH ends! don't pick up dumb fouls either. we need all y'all to stay on the floor, incl DREW!

our guards did a good job on Chauncey, Kleiza, JR, & Dahntay.....can't expect to hold them all down the whole series, but don't let them get too hot, esp JR+Chauncey. those ***** are streaky as hell!

Melo's gonna get his 20-30 cuz he's just too skilled a scorer. i know he only got 14 against us during the reg season, but that's eons ago. dude is seriously ballin lately. let's try to keep him closer to 20 than 30 and certainly not more again. the keys are making him work hard for EVERY shot & doing the same on the other Nugs. as long as we don't let Melo go bonkers again and keep the others from pitching in a lot, we'll be okay. no way can we let Nene+Kmart have so many easy buckets again.....Birdman too. i like dude, but we need to tar+feather his @$# this game+the rest of this series! lol

play lockdown D, esp in the paint+on their shooters!
stay outa foul trouble+don't bail the Nugs out w/easy scoring opportunities!
move the ball around and get good shots. don't settle for long J's unless they're wide open looks.
make STRONG moves in the paint+to the cup....no weak flip shots!
take care of the ball, cut down on turnovers!
play hard from BEGINNING to END, and let's go get this one too!

Lake Show played 1.5 qtrs of good ball and then played then stunk up last part of the first half!? we had a 14pt lead, and had a chance to blow the game wide open, but let the Nugs go on an 8-0 run to close the gap. then we took bad shots, turned the ball over, gave Denver wide open looks+easy shots to cut the lead all the way down to 1?? KB turning his back to Chauncey and letting him inbound the ball of his back+score was inexcusable! they teach you in grade school ball to never turn your back+ lose sight of the ball!?

man, wasted opportunity to get a stranglehold on this game. we played so well early and had the Nugs struggling+second guessing themselves. now they're back in the game. they haven't even played well yet.....dang!

our bigs are doing a much better job than last game, but they still are giving Kmart too many easy shots......had 4-5 dunks in a row to start the game!? move your feet and check him, geez! Kleiza hit like 4 wide open treys too. GET OUT ON HIM!

we have too many turnovers again. take care of the ball! it's not that difficult to understand that you shouldn't force passes and need to pass out of double teams.

D-Fish is doing a pretty good job on Chauncey and hasn't had many scoring opportunities, but Sasha is bricking up a storm. dude needs to hit those open J's....missed like 5-6 WIDE OPEN ones. you're getting paid to hit spot up shots....DO IT!

it's a brand new ball game. go back to square one and D the Nugs up like you did in the 1st qtr, and KEEP CHECKING THEM FOR THE REST OF THE GAME! we know they're gonna make a push sooner or later, so STAY SHARP!

come out and play hard this 3rd qtr......set the tone for the rest of the game. DO NOT LET THE NUGS JUMP OUT FIRST OR HAVE ANY CONFIDENCE+MOMENTUM GOING INTO THE 4TH QTR!

our turn to choke one away.....

had the game i hand the first half but squandered the 14pt lead and let them back in the game.
fell apart down the stretch w/some costly mistakes....turnovers by KB, terrible shot selection, bricked FTs--incl another 2 straight in crunch time by Pau.
Trevor went from hero to zero this time w/that turnover at the end too. he played well all game long, but that one really cost us.
we still had a chance cuz Chauncey missed that FT, but D-Fish couldn't come up w/another miracle playoff trey to tie it.

man, what a wasted opportunity to take control of this series. props to Denver for not giving up. Melo is really kicking our a$#es. now it's a whole new series and off to Denver. the pressure is on us now to win game 3. w/the next 3 games there, we NEED to win AT LEAST that one.

i still can not get over our inconsistency and failure to finish off teams. it came back to bite us again. the scary thing is that the Nugs still have not had a really good team game yet and almost beat us twice. JR & Chauncey are bound to explode sometime. we have to dig deep and find some stability ASAP or else we'll be in trouble. will someone please buy Sasha & D-Fish some made shots too?? those guys are really hurting us w/all their bricks.

this loss makes for a more entertaining series, but, man, i still can't believe we let this one get away. i thought our guys finally learned their lesson.....obviously not. they better rest up and check themselves in the next 48 hours.
