how long has your clutch lasted?

Got a factory replacement, and it feels better than the old clutch ever felt.

I do a lot of driving. A LOT! My clutch seems to be going out slowly but it still works. I do notice in fifth and sixth i get a little slippage when i floor it. Almost like the clutch cant hang with the motor. I drive my car very hard. Dont launch too much but i have a few times. I do notice a "shake" as i am at lower speeds and im assuming it has something to do with the clutch going out. But its a subaru!!!! Take a lickin and keep on tickin! I was told not to change it until it dam near brakes.

I would have thought that you might have slippage in lower gears, where the torque is greater. If you are at the point where you can see the tach jump but the speedometer doesn't , it sounds like clutch time to me. But, my own experience is that clutches last a long time when not abused. Launches take their toll on everything, and the only place were much can really slip is the the clutch. It seems to me that the 4wd diffs may have just an instant of slip, but not enough to relieve the torgue pressure of dropping the clutch at 4krpm in 1st gear. Others may have better info on this; I will wait for the Wizards of Ows to speak.

I would rather toast my clutch than smash my transmission personally, i slip it a LOT when i launch
update.
added 10k more to what i had from the last post. so about 53k miles now and the clutch is still holding fairly well with my vf34 making 255 awhp on gruppe-s dyno before my headers.
