I bought mine new with 435 miles on it in May of '03. I drive her nice and easy most of the time, don't race or anything. I live in the woods and have a lot of windy/turny/hilly roads so I just like zippin' around those instead of launching really fast. I can barely even knotice any wear or tear on the clutch, and I've never replaced or changed it.

Got cold clutch judder and massive clutch failure at about 15k miles on my 02 and it was replaced under warranty. Now at 33k the clutch seems to be shuttering again, but this time it's at any temperature and low speed. After replacing the clutch that early, who knows when this "updated" clutch will fail.

85,000 on my stock clutch. Still have the cold clutch shudder but I'm assuming that'll go away once I eventually upgrade the clutch.

Wildblitz1337, WOW three clutches. are you in Oviedo, FL? if so who has done your clutch work? you mentioned your going though some gearbox issues. what are you current problems? i am having a slight rub from 3rd to 4th gear when haulin a$$. under normal driving conditions everything is fine. since gearbox faliure is a current issue, for you, can i expect my problems to get worse? thanks in advance. i live in Orlando, whats your subie look like, perhaps i've seen you.

68,000 miles including lots of auto-x on an MY02 (2001). It has always had a slight cold-shudder problem but I work around it. It still seems to work fine.

Just over 15k on my 04 STi and the clutch feels very grabby. Feels like it grabs better than the first year I had it actually. Although I did learn to drive stick on the car and I've never launched it hard either.

i got 43k on my 03 wrx and the clutch is starting to go from lots of high rpm launches. had to get 4th gear replaced though, started grinding during regular shifting.

I'd say 75% of my driving is done on the freeway. I just had 60K service done yesterday on my '03 WRX. Clutch is working perfectly. The longest I had a clutch w/o work done it was with my '90 Eclipse GS Turbo. That went 199K with no work needed. I had it rebuilt as a precaution at 199K because I had the car in to relpace the original turbo that had blown and to get the valves re-done. Figured the cluch might as well get rebuilt while the other stuff was getting done.

My wife used to burn out clutches in less than 50K, but that was all in-town driving, which is a lot harder on a clutch than freeway miles.

wow, lowrx your 4th gear grind. can you describe it? i am getting a rub from 3rd to 4th gear but only when haulin a$$. under normal (legal) speeds it shifts like butter. ahh yes the wifey... just maintence intervals seem to go up when someone other than myself drives my subie. thanks for all the feed back. i guess we have learned we have a pretty good clutch

ralli me, that **** didn't act up until I hit over 4500rpm in 3rd, then when i shifted the gears would grind like crazy. If your car is doing this, GO GET IT CHECKED!!! i took mine to the nearest subaru dealer and it was under warranty. turns out it was the gear synchros. it's an expensive fix if your not under warranty.

Mine chattered bad at about 15k. My dealer here in vancouver said the factory replacement will do the same in about as many klms. So he said I buy a ACT street clutch and he'll put it in for free under warranty. He gave me the new replacement parts from subaru so now I have a spare clutch if I need it, So far no need 90 klms. and still as strong as ever, good clutch, It has about 50% more pressure at your foot, so your left leg will be good and strong.
