Car Info: A limousine with a chauffer
If we do Olmstead, what about a counter-clockwise run, stop at the cars for a refuel (a drink, some grub), then do it the other way? I've always wanted to ride clockwise..
We need to start thinking/getting outside of the "auburn" box. I know I haven't done Olmstead yet, so I'm down with it. But maybe we can plan to ride some other areas when we all have the time to do so.
Here is one I want to hit up soon: HITG

Maybe sometime in June. But it seems like my June calender is filling up...so right now the 10th & 17th are looking pretty open. So HITG or N/S Yuba area would be cool.

Do you guys think a Saturday would be better? I only ask because of Sunday traffic returning from the Sierras.
Sometime in June, though, HITG would be fun
. It's just an all day event so we need to plan ahead.

Olmstead Trailhead off HWY49 in Cool - right behind the Fire Station as you come into the north end of town.

This weekend works well for me - found out that my wifes boss is off all week so she's covering all of his closing shifts, which means she'll be sleeping all day anyway

It turns out Satuday might be better for me than Sunday this weekend.
I'm up for something else than Auburn. Hole in the Ground would be good, or anything like that.
One other ride to consider is S. Yuba. I did it a earlier in the year and really liked it. Trying to do the loop like I did is brutal.

Geez. Exciting bike commute this morning.
Get to work: I didn't remember to bring boxers. Also forgot my belt. Effin A.
I'm going to the bike shop now with a coworker to buy a new tube and more Co2
. I still had a damn fun time though.
- Mile 2: Pump bounces in to wheel when I go over a bump (I recently mounted my pump on my seat stay - this was the second ride with it, the first ride was no problem). Spoke of wheel slices the valve-head of the pump, making it worthless. I look across the street and see a dumpster. There goes $50.
- Mile 14: Sacramento Wheelmen morning ride enters trail. They ride slow. Takes me about two miles to get past their whole group. They were all really friendly, but they killed my momentum. If they had been going 19mph or so that would have made for a sweet finish to my ride (no wind resistance!).
- Mile 16: When I passed the Wheelmen, one of their guys jammed up and pacelined me. I didn't know he was there (iPod was on so I don't know if he called out his presence or not) so when I went to slow and move for a jogger, we nearly hit. Nice.
- Mile 18: Crossing Coloma in Rancho Cordova I pick up a staple
. Insta-flat, two miles from work. No pump, thankfully I had my Co2 in my bag. Pull out the staple, replace the tube, reinflate, bead pops off
. Slowly reinflate with second (and final) Co2, good to go.
