You probably just need to tension up the star nut.

Even if it is something worse, you're still under warranty. I'm sure Mike's will take care of it.

I tightened up the stem top cap bolt, the cincher bolts and the stem bolts. Still did it. If you held the bike vertical (standing on the rear tire) and turned the bar it would go "pop pop pop pop" and you could feel it in the bars. When I was riding, it would get louder and you could really feel it. I'll be glad when it's fixed .

So what do you guys want to ride next week? We talked yesterday and decided that if we want to do a long ride, doing a normal loop x2 is probably the way to go given the ginormous amount of climbing we subjected ourselves to yesterday. Though, we could always park at confluence, suffer up clementine and know that that last 2-3 miles of the ride are all downhill . Clementine doesn't seem like such a bad call considering it's only about 3 miles of climbing and the data from yesterday show us climbing from just before mile 2 until just before mile 4. Also, Clementine doesn't dish up anything like the nastiness that mossy rock and fuel break do

I guess anything would be better then the sequence of climbs we did yesterday. (If I didn't take to the road most of the way back I probably would have not made it). But I did have fun and even though my theighs are killing me, I was very pleased with how my new bike handled on the trail.

Unfortunately with finals coming in 3 weeks I am going to have to miss out on our weekend rides until the semesters done......I have too much studying to do. But I'll make the missed rides up this summer.

By the way my rear brake pad kept twisting into the rear tire yesterday. One side is all but worn in half....the tire doen't look like it was damaged (a harder compount then the brake pads I guess).....well looks like I have my excuse to get some dics put on the bike now.

I'll see you guys in a few weeks. We should have a BBQ to celebrate Summer coming on (after finals).

Cheers

Our Little League game next Saturday is at 4:30, so I can do an early ride.

Are you trying to kill me?

I'll do connector-FDLT-connector and maybe some parts of Clementine, but FDLT X2 is a bit much for my slow, old self. :bananen_smilies022:

Well, if we roll like this weekend, we won't go full speed like we did last week. A slow pace with some breaks - that work? .

lol. Sorry I didn't wait for you yesterday - Paul (@DBTUNED) called me on the way up stagecoach to remind me I was late for my appt :rotfl:. The beauty of doing the loop x2 is that if people want they can bail.

BUT, if you ride both times, I'll have beer at the end.

Oh, and talk about pain? I did a road ride with my neighbor today. The wind was rough and he just laughed at me while he rode away It was a good 21 miles but damn it was tiring

I did Connector plus FHD Loop x 2 a little over a week ago. It was pretty tough, but not any worse than yesterday. I've also done FHD loop x 2. That wasn't to bad. A lot easier than yesterday. And there would also be several opportunities for people to bail if they get to tired.

Are we committed to Saturday? I might not be able to make Saturday, but for sure can do Sunday. What are you guys schedules like?

Saturday is probably a better day for me next week. I think I am meeting family for dinner that night, which means it will be late :\] If everyone else can only ride Sunday though, I may just have to suffer..or road ride it :\

So do we want to ride connector + FDLT on Saturday at 8am? I will probably ride FDLT twice and anyone who wants can join me
