SRIC Mountain Bike Crew!
Matt- tell me more about the 3D fit @ Mikes. Do they do it with any bike or just Specialized? How much?

On the PO front, I ended up with a patch of it on my left arm. If we ride at Salmon Falls again I want to have Tecnu with me in the van and put it on as soon as we get back.

For my road bike, they started by asking me how I felt while riding with the current setup. I was getting numbness in my hands or my crotch, depending on seat height. I was of the opinion that I might need a stem with a higher rise and they seemed to agree. They started by adjusting the seating position up and forward (based on what they were seeing in my riding position and what I told them of my comfort). They measured my knee bend by modifying seat height and position a bit further. They then checked my foot position over the pedals, and moved my cleats to get my knees lined up properly. Then they watched me pedal again to see how my back and arms were looking. They said I looked a bit stretched out, which is probably why I was getting alternating numbness, so they got out their special stem height adjuster, installed it on my bike with a 15 degree rise, twisted the bars up a bit and had me ride.
Instant comfort. Felt so good.
We tried a few different rises to make sure I had what I liked. The original was the best, so they swapped out my stock stem with the new higher rise stem (at no cost since I had bought the bike there, even though it was almost a year ago). The stems they had in stock wouldn't work with my stock handle bars, so I had the option to either wait for a stem to come in from another store (in a couple days) or buy new bars. They had an ITM Light Luxe Wing bar (normally $89) for $40 that would work perfectly. The wing refers to a flat bar section to either side of the stem. After riding with that wing last night, I'm in love. It's an awesome bar. I had a little numbness still on my ride last night, but I'm thinking now that it's related to the shorts I'm wearing (The shorts I originally started riding with are too big now and I need to wear size L!) so I'm going to try out my new BG shorts tonight. If those work out, I'm gonna pick up some BG Comp Bibs and I should be all set.
They should be able to do the 3d fit for any bike/shoe combo.

I've been doing some reading on stuff as I have been out of touch with bikes for like 7 years. This idea looks like it has some merit...
Gee, there have been a huge number of innovations in the past 7 years. :rotfl:
On a side note, I went to Mike's Bikes yesterday and rode the crap out of several bikes for like 2 hours. I think I am in love with the Specialized Enduro SL.

I've just read some complaints about the mess from the notubes goop, and many people have said a compressor is required to really fill the tires properly.
I usually run 40psi and don't pinch at that pressure. Lower pressure would be nice but over some rocky stuff, I've banged the rim at 32-35lbs :\

I looked at Stan's and could see no advantage for where we live. If it saved weight or if we lived in Texas
where they have lots of thorns and broken beer bottles, I might want Stan's.

Okay, guys, a friend of mine wants to go riding, but we are both out of shape. I need something with not too much elevation change. Preferably a loop. Maybe a couple of hours.
I need a fun ride that is not too hard (and don't say t-will's mom). GO!!!

Poison oak owned me this weekend. It took 7 days for the first signs to show up. I'm finding out that it takes around 7 to 10 days for allergic reactions to appear when exposed to poison oak for the first time. Hopefully, the existing breakouts are the only ones I'll get. Damn it!!
