The Stealth R/T is essentially a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 which is grade A lead-sled status in my book. Their too damn heavy and don't have the potential to compete with Skylines/Supras/NSXs, etc...

Skylines seem to be doing pretty well (maybe only in Japan but they are still winning), how those stealths doing?

I never said it was a race car. I just said instead of being ripped off, I would buy a Supra or Stealth and make that fast and both look better

I find it ironic that you say I don't know much about racing. Prove yourself, I'd be happy to PM you my credentials.

I meant racing history lets not get off track. Just because you race that doesn't make you a history expert does it?

Now can someone point out where the Skylines won world class events. Leman Spa bathhurst or any 24hrs race for that matter other than Japan. So far no one has and thats my point Corvette, Viper , Porsche, Audi, and Mazada have won there classes several times. Not the Skyline probably the most coveted sportcar in the import world.
Again and for the last time, THE SKYLINE IS BANNED IN MANY INTERNATIONAL EVENTS!!!! And Ruben, you've been the most correct so far (if you know what I mean).

I never said you said it was a race car (stealth), but you did say that you thought skylines were ugly and that you don't understand why we all covet the GTR, how many times do we have to explain it, 1000hp capable motor with basic bolt ons (yes I know that a turbo upgrade isn't exactly a basic bolt on, but it doesn't take a guru to install one), awd, twin turbo str8 6, should I go on, AGAIN?

Then you started to say,"Ok, but where has it won any racing events?"

You never said anything about racing in your original post. Now all you want to talk about is racing, so where does the DODGE STEALTH or MITSUBISHI 3000GT stack up?

Again and for the last time, THE SKYLINE IS BANNED IN MANY INTERNATIONAL EVENTS!!!! And Ruben, you've been the most correct so far (if you know what I mean). I'm talking about racing because to be a true high performance race car you have to win races everywhere. Someone said down under when I never saw it so tell me win so I can look it up,where are your facts SIR.

NOT in the following events because I seen it : 24hrs Lemans and Spa. The way a car gets banned is that is usually shows up and rolls up the field, Well when and where did this happen so I could look it up. At the races that I seen the covet skyline show up it lost. As of today all talk and no proof. Did someone just say that and everyone believes it. 1000 hp ok I think its going to cost you over a 50K to get that kind of HP.

the DODGE STEALTH or MITSUBISHI 3000GT stack up?

I said it looks better I never said it was faster, but it might be in stock form it. I also said rather than get ripped off buying that (GTR) in the states, I would buy a supra or Stealth they both look better. I could buy a Stealth and upgrade it making it way faster for less money than the GTR that I would get here.

Again and for the last time, THE SKYLINE IS BANNED IN MANY INTERNATIONAL EVENTS!!!!

The only AWD car that I saw get banned in international events was the Audi. Not your beloved skyline where did you get this

info.http://www.skylinegtr.com/SPECS.html Look at the road test again.

Its still running in the DTM it did win the championship 2 out of the last 3 yrs I think. Its rear wheel drive. It did get banned in the BTCC and it got banned once here the US in Trans AM. Not to mention the Killer B ban in the WRC and thats what you call world Class thats a racing history. Where was the Skyline? I hope I made my point and the blind will open their eyes. Maybe that's asking to much, Say No to Drugs.

Uh, Corvettes get murdered?

You might want to check the ALMS results. For one, Porsche races in GT2 (used to be GTS) and Audi races in P1, so you're talking apples and oranges as both P1 and GT2 cars are more "race modified" than GT1 cars. Secondly, Corvette dominates the GT1 class.

In 10 races this year, Corvettes have won 9 out of 10 races in GT1 competition.

8 1-2 finishes
1 1-6 finish (Road Atlanta)
1 2-3 finish (Sebring, first race of the season)

Last year in GTS, Corvettes won... 10 out of 10 races in the same class as Porsche.

And you should read the thread because we're not talking about those events.

Oh, so ALMS races aren't "serious racing"?

I did quote you directly.

But go ahead - prove me wrong. I showed you proof that in "serious racing" versus international competition, Corvettes are 19 out of 20 in the last two years. Post the results where they are getting "murdered".

Oh ya, Corvette also had a class win at the 24 hours of Le Mans. They did get beat by LMP1 class Audis for the overall win, though, if you want to keep arguing apples and oranges.

You also failed to mention that Vipers typically are required to add ballast to even the playing field.

You can't compare race cars to a stock or even lightly modified Skyline...a prepared, factory sponsored Corvette C6R makes perhaps twice the power of the C6 you can buy. You're comparing apples to oranges when talking race cars with street cars. It's 300hp versus 800 hp, that's a sizeable difference.

Any car can be made to go fast and handle well if it has a good basic setup to work with. You're going to be going faster in a built Skyline than a built DSM, it's going to handle better and that's generally the most important factor in driving a car. That said, you can build a Corvette LS engine up to 1000+ horsepower just as "easily" as a Skyline, you're going to spend less money on initial purchase and spend about the same money on the parts. But whether you're buying two huge turbos for the Skyline or the Corvette, the reliability and streetability of the car is going down the toilets fast. There's no way you're going to be driving one of these things out on the street, not to mention you'll be sliding all over a race track in one of these things. It's just too much power, thought I'd never say that but it's true. If you have any sports car stock and can learn to drive it well, you have the potential to do very well against all takers regardless of what they're driving, because your ability is large part of the "fast" equation.
