Just the other day I was at universal and I had another chance to look at the Skyline up close. The car is one ugly machine. I would never own one, it would be an eye sore in my driveway. I would buy a supra if I wanted a twin turbo car or even Mits Stealth. I guess its only popular because you can spend a whole lot of money on them to make them really fast. Give me an Sti or even an evo 8 any day.

 

which skyline did u see? personally i really dig the R34, i kinda want one and it would have to be the one below...in that color of course...but i would NEVER pay 80-100k just to get it to the states....i could buy some better cars for that price

 

R33 all the way IMO the 34 is nice but i love me some R33

 

I see nothing special about the car the color is nice. I met a guy who owned on over in Japan while in the service. He paid 5 grand for it. he told me that a while know company here is So. Ca. wanted 40 grand to make it street legal here, that's insane.

 

blame the federal standard for making it that way then lol.....import fees, making it road legal...blah blah blah....one guy i came across that lived in japan for 4yrs while in the service owned multiple skylines he said and easily could get them for 3-7k it would cost him nothing to bring it hear...but would have to spend 12k just to make it road legal...if i had that...id bring it hear and sell it lol make buko bucks and buy myself a different car

The GT-R is capable of so much more than the STi or Evo, plus it has a much better transmission.
I would never own one here, the price is just stupid.

I say you are nuts!!! First off, Dodge makes the stealth(fugly as $hit imo), secondly skylines are almost bullet proof stock. The rb26dett is probably the best motor in recent production history, along with the "getrag" (i think thats what they come stock with) 6 speed can handle enormous amounts of hp.

So you say they are ugly cars and an eyesore, I say any car that is capable of laying down 1000 hp w/awd and a transmission that can handle that power is f**king SICK, imo. But go ahead and buy yourself a "mitsu stealth" (uh 3000gt) and you can rock your Oakley blades and dayglo speedos all you want. ghey

 

I think you are smoking too much crack, that can only lead to bad things. The Skyline, be it R32, 33, or 34 is just plain wicked, and it has the looks to match. How you find it ugly (and we're still not sure what Skyline you saw) is beyond my understanding.

Hop in your Mitsu "Stealth" and drive off to the F&F 3 preview.

 

oh, and it doesn't take alot of money to make the GT-R fast. It already hass enough of fast from the factory.

Skyline lovers, Ok its AWD out the box the Sti and the evo will spank that car and when you talk about not being expensive to make fast that's a joke everyone knows that in the twin turbo cars its very expensive , you have to do everything twice, double the cost. I ask you has that car "skyline" won in any place other than Japan. Subies & Evos have won all over the world. All I'm saying is that car is very over rated.

 

dont get me wrong i love subaru always have always will and the evo has been a great car since the begining but come on now "spank that car"i think not. you want to talk rally of course subaru and mitsu. have it over nissan. but thats what they are made for. but when it comes down to raw power the skyline will come out over top hands down.and even being it is a Twin turbo car does mean twice the bill when it comes to parts but when it comes to making it faster just like any other car all you do is improve what is already there its set up for it already its not like your adding a twin turbo kit to it. tuning would be the main thing as it is with every car you want to get the most out of. i mean you cant deny the RB26DETT is one monster of and engine right out of the box power at your finger tips. how many EJs do you know that are putting out well over the 1K HP mark? yes it is over rated leaving people to think its unbeatable and the "best" which was caused by the F&F movie but along with that movie came alot of other cars that were "over rated" and you have to think the car you looked at was made for a movie it was never ment to scream down a stretch of road or around a track. IMO it is and always will be one of the top cars in the import/performance scene. and a final thought towards the Steath(3000gt) get off the drugs if you think this competes with the skyline or supra

 

The Stealth is a better looking car obviously it doesn't out perform the modified eye sore. I own several best motoring dvds and the factory Sti and evo spank the Skyline. Oh and by the way your 1000 hp Skyline has never won anywhere other than Japan, someone correct me if im wrong. If you want to talk about a fast car look at the Audi S4 twin turbo and those cars have won racing events all over the world
