Ain't it a li'l late in the game to get a group rate? I thought most places ended their "discounts" a few days ago (Sept. 30th).

If you want a tire that you can run all year round I'd say I like my Proxe 4's. The Pzero Neros are hands down the best though. Few others are worth mentioning as well.

If you want dedicated snow tires...try blizzaks. They make one that's designed for what you're talking about..not some burly 4x4 tire. Think it's the LM-25...do a search on Tirerack. They have some great reviews of snow tires.

I've run RE070's, RE92's, Toyo Proxe 4's and Falken 512's in the snow on my car. I'm still alive. Just drive within your abilities.
After trying a number of different tires up to Tahoe, I've been most impressed all around with BFG KDWSs. I had Neros for a season and felt they were absolute crap in anything beyond a moist pavement. Currently I'm using Hankook snow tires but feel they're a little soft both in rubber and sidewall for anything besides that snow. I've also had Conti Extreme Contact (?) and felt they were about on par with the Neros... maybe a little better in the snow.

KDWSs are also a great RallyX tire compared to the rest.

YEA! A friend came back from Reno a few days ago and there was a mild storm. Traffic slowed to 20-25 mph. Crossing my fingers for a Oct 31 opening day! =)

I used the Conti Extreme Contacts back when I had my WRX a couple years ago in the big storms that tahoe had. They worked great for not being a dedicated snow tire. Never got stuck, never felt in danger, always in control. Of course I wasn't driving like a idiot either.

I totally recommend them and will probably be buying a set for the Evo this season.

Once they have coverage just head right for the double-black-diamonds (Hangman's Hollow). A lot more above tree line boarding at Mammoth. There are tree runs of course but not as much as you would think.

How much is your trip costing you? Flying or Roadtrip?

Heading out to colorado sounds real fun.

FWIW Vail was voted #6 overall resort in Transworld Snowboarding. But then again N* is cool but not great and they got #5.

"This category is about discovering which resorts offer the complete vacation experience on and off the slopes."
