rollcall...snowboarding...you know who you are.
Bump b/c I just found out that I won a Sierra Bluebird on TruSnow's weekday giveaway a couple Fri's ago!
This windfall has me jonesin' for winter pow even harder after seeing the latest trailer for The Art of FLIGHT a couple weeks ago. I'm almost certain I saw the original trailer on hear before last season ended. If you haven't seen the 1st, check that one out, too.
** Tip: Watch at full-screen once video loads!!! **
Oh, and it looks like I missed out on last day to get the TahoeCard for only $45. They just announced they added an Apline Meadows-Homewood voucher (at no add'l charge to those who bought prior to yesterday's deadline). So from now till Sept 15th, the card is $60... still an AWESOME deal w/ everything you get!
Now let's enjoy this latest much-needed warmup. Hasn't really felt like summer temps at all over the last few months. Ha! Did I just jinx us for an Indian Summer into late- Sept?

I don't ever log on anymore. Probably should.
The snow bomb is on sale at half price and has some killer deals this year. 3 free passes. Kirkwood being one of them. I might get one just to snag that kirkwood pass. Funny that they announce stuff AFTER they stop the deal. LOL!
We're definitely gonna get an indian summer. No way around it. Been to cold this summer.
Stoked you won that snowboard. That's a jacket and a board now. Lucky bastard. I haven't won crap over there. That's why I stopped logging on. I was on like 3-400 times with no wins. LOL!

Yeah, Ray, but you scored the "useful all year-round" GoPro! I only enter that one whenever I remember to or get the chance to log on for TruSnow's giveaway.

getkong: 'grats on your freebie. At least it went to someone who could use it. It's too bad they don't allow winners who already own the item to get something of comparable value & overstock. Anyway, maybe this season we can get catch a day together @Kirkwood to drop the "Hollywood hit" along Chair 4. Btw, I found out it's called Tower Eight Drop-Off.

Justin: At first, I couldn't settle on the '56 or '59. After getting some input on TruSnow, I'm leaning toward the '56. While the Bluebird will handle pow better than my Agent 152, it's still is an all-mtn freeride board. If it had true powdah beast characteristics, I know the size decision would be much easier.
Btw, what size is your "brand NEW, old" (
) NeverSummer? I bet it's plenty stiff. Coincidently, flex/stiffness is what I'm somewhat concerned w/ re: the Bluebird. It's rated with a "Feel" of 5 whereas my Agent (all-mtn freestyle) was given a 6 w/in the Rome line-up when new.

True... the gopro was a major score! I need to practice more with it so I"m ready for winter.
As for stiffness. I like stiff boards but I think you'll dig the 5 broham. Just don't go too big and end up with a chatterbox. I think 159 would be a solid board to add to your list. You don't need a tweener board. You've already got the 152. I think if you do a 156 you're gonna end up with another tweaner board. Look at it this way... if the 159 is too big you can sell it. LOL! 159's sell mad quick.

Along with boardaholic, I won a Sierra Bluebird back in May but didn't know and the coupon expired. I emailed Trusnow and they said to send them my coupon code and they'll renew it, but so far I haven't heard back or received a working code so I gotta email them again. I was on the same boat as boardaholic as far as which size to go with. But since the biggest board I have is a 155, looks like the 159 will be a good addition
Anyone having a season pass dilemma like I am? Can't decide on any of them, and now I saw that Kirkwood, Alpine Meadows and Homewood have a package season pass
I was really looking into getting the Northstar/Heavenly pass with the Colorado resorts access since my brother is stationed in Colorado now. But he could be deploying overseas soon, so that might not work out. But I really like Sierra and they have the Sun-Fri pass for $219
Aaaggghhh

Welp, looks like im going back tomorow to CO to ride breck and lets all get keystoned! I've been at sky highthis summer working on corks rodeo's underflips, all the good stuff. This is my video from last year, have a good season! 2010-11 season Andrew Dixon - YouTube
I'm doing Kirkwood again this year. Loved it last year, and had a ski lease down in south lake. I didn't do the package with Alpine, since it's so much more expensive. I'm doing a Utah trip, and will likely ride all over Tahoe anyway. Last year I got 22 days in, and the only Tahoe resort I missed was Sierra.
boardoholic: hollywood hit being the 5-15fter below the lift on 4? As long as I don't end up going through Dick's Drop again, which is off to the rider's left of 10.

Hmmm... kinda diggin' your idea to get a '59. My thinking on going w/ a '56 was for it to be the "tweener" for a future TRUE powdah beast--i.e. Fish or Jones Hovercraft. Despite TruSnow/Sierra's marketing description of the Bluebird, it's not a "powder" board. I consider it a "freeride" deck.
If 'Feel' of the 'bird stokes me out, I could see a '56 becoming my go-to shredstick. Our SubaBrew Powder Crew all pretty much dig the same terrain. I only occasionally take laps thru the park, w/ only the most basic of spins or grabs. And the Bluebird seems to cover exactly how I prefer to shred.
That said getting a '59 like ya suggested really wouldn't be a bad idea either. It's only 3cm's longer. While I'm at the very bottom of its recommended rider weight range, it can provide a bit more float. I'm just worried b/c I'm barely in that suggested weight range that I won't be able to make 'er respond like a '56 will since that size is exactly in my wheelhouse.
And really good point that the '59 will be way easier to unload should I not like the board feel at all.
Decisions... decisions...
I dunno how many other folks have watched the trailer I posted in the bump or if y'all watched the 1st one RedBull put out back in Feb, so here goes...

Sweet! Even if it's a few seasons old, I don't see a reason why one wouldn't be pumped w/ a deal like that. I am so looking forward to our annual this time out, esp. since everyone else got the pass to Bear but me.
