rollcall...snowboarding...you know who you are.
Check out Radio Shack instead, where you can get a Targus monopod for $15. It's extendable, so it's much more effective than slugging around a giant wooden dowel.

Trevor Jacob and his crew went up to Tahoe and jumped the legendary train gap that Temple Cummins and Andy Hetzel pioneered nearly 20 years ago. It was a huge moment for him as he's been wanting to do it since he was about 5 years old. GKC4LIFE.COM

Anyone know this kid? This definitely hits home since I know most of us have been in some "Oh ****!" situations. My 10 year old brother got stuck off the trail in some powder at the lift at Resort at Squaw Creek the day before Thanksgiving (I didn't get there until Thanksgiving). He was stuck for 4 hours in some deep powder and ski patrol was looking in the completely opposite area. Luckily, some teenagers changed there minds at the last second and went down where my brother was. Just by chance, they spotted him and helped him dig out.
Scary **** and it is terrible to hear someone dying like this.
Missing snowboarder found dead
A snowboarder missing for less than 24 hours was found dead in a tree well Sunday afternoon.
El Dorado County Sheriff Search and Rescue launched a search Saturday evening for missing boarder Phillip Walker, 22, of San Jose who went missing while snowboarding with his brother at Sierra at Tahoe Resort along the Upper Powderhorn Trail.
Walker was found just before noon Sunday covered by several inches of snow.
According to El Dorado County Sheriff officials, Walker may have struck a tree, but it has not been determined if severe winter weather was a contributing factor in the young man’s death.

Kirkwood was bomb diggity yesterday, Saturday not so much since half the mtn was closed and we lost about 45min waiting in a chain control line. It was a USELESS checkpoint, as I saw many a newish WRX or STi on stock summer rubber arriving @ the resort.
Had one of those 'crap, can I really do this?' moments atop The Sisters before sucking it up and literally jumping off a cliff yesterday.
