Yeah Sierra is now Trusnow and they just put the Capita boards on sale, although Any Mountain has the Horrorscope for $254 right now I really, really, REALLY want a 2010 Capita Ultrafear FK or Charlie Slasher. Everytime one comes up for sale, it either goes quick or sells a couple hours before I see it If I can sell some of my gear in time, Im going to try to get that Horrorscope.

 

Good job staying together. I know a lot people say no friends on powder days, but you really do need them. People don't think about it, but you can easily die within the resort with powder like this. After being under about 8 inches in that february storm, I'm already considering picking up an avalung backpack with a shovel.

ya....got crossed up through serious powder on jacks bowl at sierra, fell backwards and submarined partially into a tree well...mike came around the corner and said he wondered why someone had left there board in the middle of nowhere because all he could see was the bottom! he realized a second later it was me and hauled *** to dig me out. arms were at my sides and couldnt move them at all, luckily as soon as everything went black i managed to shake my head enough to get some daylight but was choking on the snow that was falling in and freaking out while Mike was trying to get to me and then digging me out of what he said was an easy 2+ feet of snow....scariest sh*t thats ever happened to me and i dont want to know what would have happened if he didnt see me!
ALWAYS ride with a buddy, ive got close to 150 rides in the last 5.5 seasons and shred pretty decent but it doesnt matter in that kind of POW, not trying to be on the news just yet!

 

wow man...that gave me chills (no pun intended) I always stay to the groomed runs on heavy days, but Im a noob lol. good enough to venture off the beaten path here and there but reading this, I'll never do it alone. cool story bro (lol) and good for raising awareness for snow safety

Very similar thing happened to me. Thankfully my head was only under about 8 inches of snow even though my body was over 2 feet down. I tried to almost sit when I went down. And thankfully my arms were free to clear my mouth of snow. That was the scariest part. I've been riding over 10 years now and never had something like this happen. So yea it can't happen really fast. Glad mike was there to save you.

Just came back from 3 days at homewood and alpine. I wasn't even able to go to alpine till today due to "too much snow" and wind. anybody trying to go to any of the triple whammy places this week? Matt!?!

 

I'm going to try to make it to Squaw tomorrow for a 4 day trip. How long is it taking you guys to get to tahoe from the bay area? I've heard some horror stories recently but find them kind of hard to believe.
