Yeah the Kirkwood/Homewood pass is every powder hounds dream pass.
I'll be doing the bear valley pass again this year even though it's expensive as hell and only one resort. Bunch of idiots... they need to partner up with kirkwood too. It's just across the pass.
But I'd like to hit kirkwood, homewood and possibly sierra this year.
I don't do flat star. The park is nice but the mountain is flat as hell and it's overcrowded. Not to mention its gaper central. Only time I ride there is when I get free passes.

Northstar isn't bad if you go to Lookout Mtn and the backside. You can find some pretty sweet runs there. Also WHEN its open. White Rabbit is awesome! Though most likely I'll be getting the Northstar/Heavenly pass because all my friends ride park :/

I need a hook up on some boots pretty bad. I'm gonna have to rock my same gear from last year so that I can afford to ride this year. And the sole on my boots is literally falling off.

I'm an 11.
You should see these bad boys I'm rocking right now. THese....

2004 Burton Ion HD's.
They've got HUNDREDS of days on them. The toes on the insoles are lopped off. The soles are pealing up. The laces are toast. I have to duct tape them together just to slow down the heal lift I get.
I guarantee you they're the most savagely abused boots of anyone on i-club and no way anyone has the days I have on these. LOL.
The ****ty thing... I've got about $700 in boots that didn't work out for me in my closet. Forum Devun Walsh boots. $380. No go. Vans Fargo. $300. No go. Had to keep going back to my burtons. Sucks.
I need boots. My boards will be fine until next year.

Whiskeymilitia.com is starting to post up snowboard boots. They've had the Nike ZF-1's (I love them, so freakin' comfortable) and 32's are starting to popup now.
Thanks everyone!! I found a thread on a snowboarding forum about the same thing, and everything you guys said about Southwest is what everyone else is saying. Other airlines sound like nightmares. People not getting charged extra for their gear going to their destination, but then getting charged when they're returning home.
Luckily I already have a padded board bag but I'll most likely pick up another one so my dad can use that one. Sounds like if I'm under 50lbs, Ill be good. I want to take 2 boards and bindings, but that can change depending on how the weather is.

As you found out, you'll be good w/ as much gear as you can stuff into the board bag as long as it's 50 lbs. or less. Like the guy on TruSnow said, they don't actually count the pieces of equipment. Over a decade ago, I checked both mine & my brother's boards & bindings along w/ my boots in my padded bag. And just a couple seasons ago, I brought only one set-up (board, bindings & boots), but shoved an @$$-load of other goodies into the padded bag. I'm sure you found the following info, too:
From southwest.com's Baggage Policies on Sports Equipment --
"Snow or water skis are accepted when enclosed in a suitable container. Southwest Airlines provides free plastic bags for skis and ski poles. These bags are used to prevent the various components of ski equipment from becoming separated. The skis will be conditionally accepted unless they are being transported in a hard, plastic case or standard ski bag. Snow ski equipment consists of one pair each of skis, ski poles, and boots. Water-ski equipment includes one pair of skis and one life preserver or vest. Snowboard equipment includes one snowboard and one pair of boots. When substituting ski equipment for a free bag, Southwest Airlines allows up to two bags (containing one set of snow skis, ski poles, and ski boots) to count as one item, even if they are packed and tagged separately. *Overweight charges may apply."
It might help to call & find out if the part I underlined about "ski equipment" also applies to "snowboard equipment." It almost seems as if the view it as equivalent, so you might be able to pack your boots separately from your board(s) w/ bindings and have them count as only ONE checked item.
While I never really thought much about protecting my bindings too much, I have used OneManArmy's suggestion of extra padding for my board by using slivers of bubble-wrap (the kind w/ the quarter-sized air pockets). Looks like I'll do something similar for the bindings b/c I'd really hate to have some random damage to those myriad of parts. Thanks for the tip, Ray!
Oh, and fyi for you, Aaron... I just placed the order for my Bluebird 159 this morning. I'll let you know when it comes in if you want any extra deets on which size you should go for.
