I had 2 surgeons recommend surgery. Popped out like 9 times in one year a couple years back. Was so bad it popped out once while I was jacking my car up. Smacked my face on the side of the car...alla jeff..haaa.
I went the PT and massage therapy route instead. It's not perfect but it doesn't pop out anymore and I have about 90% mobility in it now compared to 50%.
I got the brace through insurance when I was in PT. It's gnarly. It's the same brace they give football players that are playing through seperated shoulders and stuff like that. Friggen rips. Bit too constraining for me so I think I sported it only a couple times. Ended up blowing my knee out shortly after I got it and by the time I could ride again the shoulder was fine.
My advice would be to go in and get an MRI if you have insurance. If it's a tear I'd ask to try PT and get a brace. They'll probably do it. Then do a surgery after the season is over... if necessary. It's a 6-8 month heal time.
Hopefully you just got a stinger and it'll be sore a couple weeks then go away.

the reason im slightly worried is because after almost a week it seems to have only gotten worse, and when it happened it was bad enough for a minute I thought i may not be able to get up, i cut my face open from the impact and vomited a little bit (not after from pain but literally hit so hard i threw up a lil on impact) I have gi problems tho with lots of stomach acid thats always on the rise so that doesn't mean much.....just bending over can screw me sometimes so
seems like surgery is a temp fix that messes you up even worse later.

Max you need to fill me in on that....wooo hooo. That looks sick as hell.
Oh...and on the shoulder stuff.... you're a savage. I went the other route and refused the surgeries. Dislocated it for the first time in high school. Had quite a few true stingers playing football. Dislocations. Few when I raced MTB. A BUNCH snowboarding. Got hit by a car and had a partial seperation. Tore my trap and the shoulder cap muscle. Also some micro tears in my lat and a couple back and chest muscles. Popped the ribs off my sternum. Was gnarly. All self recovery. Stupid is as stupid does. You went the right way getting the surgery.
And you're dead on.
If it's still hurting like this after a week you NEED to go get it checked. At the least they'll get you some pain meds and that's never a bad thing. Sounds to me like you might have torn something. Rotator cuff or some muscles. And it won't bruise. Remember this... injuries related to tendons and muscles are WORSE than breaks if you ask me.

Yikes, sux for the folks you saw on I-80. When we were heading back to the Bay fr: Sierra on US50 yesterday, we saw a wrb wagon that rear-ended an Explorer(maybe). There was a woman that seemed to be shaken up pretty good, too. Another small truck may also have been involved. I hope all parties involved did not suffer any major injuries. My passenger managed to fire off a pic fr his cell phone. I'm waiting for him to send it to me. My guess is that some rubber-necking was the culprit b/c there was a big rig into the guardrail/embankment in the eastbound direction.
Be careful out there, folks!

it was awesome. when i walked out of our cabin this morning there was about a foot or more new snow.
was a hella fun weekend, good amount of powder and it was still snowing when we rolled out this morning.
80 wasnt too bad once we got past the chain checkpoint, luckily no accidents, although my buddy's snowboard flew off the roof on 80 last night
