Have you guys seen the spring seasonal by Mendocino Brewing Company? It's a bock and is quite good, imo. Of course, I love bock beers so I'm biased.

Heh. Just grabbed some of this @ Sunnyvale. For some reason, I like it. Not always and never on a cold day but hey - to each his own I guess.

Oh - the brewery has a new IIPA on tap. It's 8% of awesome. Just FYI. Now that I am back, I can resume prepping the cask. Rob has a new IPA that will be kegged and ready soon. We must partake. Should be amazing. He mentioned something about herds of buffalo, the weakest of the herd being killed off and how that relates to how this beer kills brain cells and makes you smarter at the same time. Works for me. Crazy scientists.

"It came from a scientist, so it must be true."

I brewed another batch of that pale that I had at the super bowl party, the sample I took this morning (hey, it was after 5:00[am]) was tasty. I significantly simplified the recipe to DME and american vienna malt. Good hop aroma (going to dry hop for a few days) with good complexity at the end, and some nice dryness.

Oh, and MoreBeer is having their Summer Sale on the 10th (15% off everything). Just an FYI. As for HMB Brewing, does your on/off call schedule fluctuate? If so, let me know when you're able to drink on a Monday night.

I don't really remember that one, but I remember thinking it was OK. I like their IIPA winter seasonal

Oh, and anyone have ideas for a stout name? I'm drawing a blank on this one

Idea(s) so far:
•"Big Momma" She may look thick, but she's got a few tricks
•"It's So Thick" Ale (Thats What She Said)
•TWSS Ale (It's so thick!)
•The Only Thing the Irish Got Right
•Gulf Coast Ale
•Stand Up and Stout

weekend bump. it appears we have been too busy drinking in the month of July to post to the beer thread.

went to Social Brew last night in Sunset SF. had the L'Enfante Terrible, which was ironically better to me than the Rapscallion. unimpressed. sorry.

tonight... St. Bernardus Prior 8s at District after an Ommegang Three Philosophers at Wexler.

was this post snobby sounding enough?

Bevmo. Are you going down to Erik and Krissy's? They may send you back with some bottles of sauce for me. I just finished up the 13th Anniversary 5-Pepper sauce and I'm quite sad. Krissy is going to see if they have more at the brewery.

Spent the afternoon being shuttled by the wife from Russian River to Lagunitas and home with some friends. Awesome way to close out the weekend.

BTW, the habanero IPA at Lagunitas is rad... the habanero chocolate stout, not so much.
