The Official Bay Area Beer Thread
Managed to score 4 growlers of the 2010 Russian River Pliny the Younger.
Extraordinary. Perhaps the best beer I've ever had.
"Hyper IPA"
It's very likely that Toronado in SF will have it on tap on Tuesday night. If you can be there you should be there.

Unfortunately I must agree with the Bevmo guy that the Ranger IPA is an "ok attempt" at an IPA. It didn't have much upfront bitterness after the first few sips, it was more of a weird bitter aftertaste. I don't hate it, but its not something I'll buy again. Not sure that you can really expect much from a $3 IPA though.
That ceramic bottle is really neat, and that IIPA is really really good. Sipping brew, and make sure to lay pillows down around your chair or just go ahead and sit on the floor if you are going to finish the bottle. With beer like that, a chair just becomes some sort of "middle-man" who hurts you on the way to the floor.
Yeah, I have been there 3x now and nothing. Gonna check the one in Los Altos since they are on the list from RRBC for getting deliveries.

It is pretty damn tasty, but I'm having it with dinner so I'm feeling quite alright

One that I shoulda had pillows for was the Deschutes Abyss

No Pliny at the Los Altos WF. I asked what was up with it and the guy said they have two cases on order for hopefully next week. He suggested the New Belgium Ranger IPA instead

Shuuuuuuuuut it!
...we got home at 3am from Frisco Friday, and then went to Ovo with Jamie's parents last night, then back up to SF for lunch with some other friends today. There were a couple Anchor Steam's with lunch at the Cliff House, so that was an extra plus
Yah we definitely need to head back to RB. We were there last weekend, IPA was quite good...so was the Bourbon Burger
Oh and we're down for Friday...What time we meeting? Carpool?
Mmmmm Pliny

As for Devil's Canyon on Friday... I'll call Jacob tomorrow evening, unless he chimes in here before that.
