Well, it's been awhile since this thread's seen a new post, so here goes:

I just saw Pride 27 this afternoon, and it's pretty good. Some real surprises for some of the fights, plus the return of Mark Kerr! He's probably gonna retire after a few more fights he said. It's interesting what happens in his match-up...
Anyway, that's Pride Vol. 27 at Osaka Castle Hall, and it took place in February. Good stuff!!

More fighting circuit updates!

Saw Pride GP 2004 Round 1 today and it was a pretty good event again. They're doing a Japan vs. Gracie special tournament too! It's from June at Nagoya's Rainbow Hall. Man, Fujiwara Norika's friggin' hot, even her sexay voice as commentator!

Also saw a K-1 Special Event: Pro heavyweight boxers against K-1 fighters. Lineup was Francois Bota v. Remy Bonjasky, Arthur Williams v. Alexey Ignashov, and Ray Mercer v. Musashi. I'd have to say that it conclusively demonstrated which style was superior, but I won't give away which unless people wanna know.

That's all for now! Oh, and Muay Thai's REEEEAAALLLY getting my lard **** in shape!

Walter -- you might want to consider an MMA style that mixes boxing and hard takedowns/wrestling considering your physique. Leave jeet kune do for the lighter guys that are built like Bruce Lee or Spike Spiegel

You know, it's interesting how regional martial arts can be. Just take kung fu for example. In Hong Kong, the most popular form hands down is Hung Gar (AKA Hung Kuen), the technique invented by Hung Hei Goon and perfected by the legendary Wong Fei Hung. But here in the States, particularly the West Coast, it's not a very form at all. It seems like the biggest one here is Wing Chun, a style that I don't particularly care for. Choy Li Fut is also quite common here on the West Coast, but rare elsewhere it seems. Truly rare is baji quan, AKA Eight Extremities Fist, at least outside of Northern China and especially the Hebei area IIRC. If I were to learn any sort of kung fu, it'd be baji quan or Hung Gar due to the sheer power of these two styles Or San Shou, if you count that as a kung fu.
something more along the lines of that one guy we were talking about from K1? the 6'8", 385 pounder?

Are you talking about the walking Japanese Novelty, Bob Sapp? He is so un-coordinated it is not even funny.

Tyson and Sapp are supposed to be fighting each other pretty soon. Any info on this. I want to see Tyson mop up Sapp, and show the world that Sapp should either go back to football or get into professional wrestling(WWE).

And is there anyone esle pissed that since Chuck Lidell beat Tito Ortiz to be the #1 contender in UFC, Lidell will have to sit and wait until Belfort and Couture is over. That is BS. Since Lidell is the #1 contender, he should get to fight Belfort, not Couture. I still think Pride is 100 times better than UFC anyways.

Jazzercize is 5 billion times more effective than any martial art for a fight. Because if you are the kind of ***** who does jazzercise, you'll never get into a fight.
