Dana White is a genius for giving them both a contract! Geez, that match was a sea of blood, a half killing

LoL, it's kinda funny having seen the two of them bloody each other so badly considering the head butt incident in practice early on between the two of them

World Oyama Karate. Anyone have any experience with it or know much about it? How does it compare with Kyokushin or Seidokan? My gratitude to you for telling me

Is that the style founded by Mas Oyama?

Right on, some of my fellow students went to that tournament (under the photos section)! *sigh* I should continue my training but everyday life interferes...no excuses huh!?

Yeah kinda, it's a Kyokushin derivative (one of many heh heh). Feels funny being one of the most able white belts, but then again it's kinda cool

KyokushinWRX, very nice! I saw some of the photos and it looked to be a good tournament. Too bad I was out of town at the time

I do kendo. 2dan. Japanese style fencing in the most simplest explanation. I just participated (for the second time) in the US kendo championships in Ann Arbor Michigan as a representative of Northern California. That was a blast!

I always wanted to train kendo, looks fun. Where I live now there's only TKD and kenpo though.

Hey, I have some informal kendo experience. Learned bits and pieces from a Japanese friend (5 dan, but doesn't practice anymore).

After 2 weeks at World Oyama Karate, I don't think I'm right for the style. There are some aspects that I just don't really care for, which is unfortunate because I think the sensei is an AWESOME guy and I got along with almost everyone at the dojo. I guess the search continues...

Hey, does anyone know if there's a good sambo school around? Preferably Command Sambo (yeah, I know it's a ridiculous desire haha)?

I guess I just want a more complete fighting system. Shooto is appealing too, but I don't think there's a gym for that around here is there? I guess I like Muay Thai as a striking style, but I also want to learn groundfighting skills too... I guess it looks like Fairtex?

Anyway, here's some interesting links I found:
http://www.kyokushinmail.com/koya/KickInstruction.htm Full contact karate and its relationship to kickboxing
http://www.usadojo.com/martial-arts-...about-arts.htm A broad and basic guide to different styles
Hope you enjoy!

Just train as much as you can with as many people from diferent styles/backgrounds as you can and you'll be golden.
Where do you live?
