Yup that's complete BS. If AT&T were to do that I think I might just switch over to Verizon for the better phones and they have LTE in my area.

In other news, if you're looking to get a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III but don't want to deal with the locked bootloader and you've still got the unlimited 4G data plan, good news!
Samsung will be directly selling a Developer's edition of the S III for Verizon that has an unlocked bootloader that you can get from them for $600, which is cheaper than the locked full-price phone from Verizon, I believe. I'm totally getting this - my Thunderbolt's crapping out on me, and I just need it to last until this thing is available for sale...
